Remember He-Man? Masters of the Universe? Remember Skeletor, Battle Cat and Orco? Well, it's time to don the nostalgia goggles and relive that 80s childhood. A new He-Man series on Netflix, with filmmaker Kevin Smith at the helm, is en route. Smith announced he will be serving as the showrunner and executive producer of the new animated series Masters of the Universe: Revelation, which will focus on the unresolved storylines of the classic '80s series, according to The Hollywood Reporter on Sunday. The new series for Netflix is described as "a wholly original story set in the epic world of Mattel's over 35-year-old global He-Man toy franchise."

It will be done by Powerhouse Animation. Same people that made the Castlevania Anime show on Netflix. I think this could be exactly what the MOTU franchise needs.

Kevin Smith is the worrying part, but if anyone is gonna write the MYAH Skeletor, since this continues the 80s version, then he's the guy.

DC had a recent decent run on He-man too. Even went far enough to crossover into Injustice.

They're sticking to the original story so... maybe just Fisto?

I think Kevin Smith is a great person to have at the helm. I think Marc Bernardin will be doing most of the writing.

Aye, I think he's more showrunner so hopefully he leans on others. Just don't give us the 2002 Skeletor. Give me MYAHs, and a tongue in cheek moral lesson at some point.

He certainly isn't the worst. His run on Green Arrow was awesome. I do expect Teela to get a massive power up. She will probably end up more powerful than He-man.

I agree. Would have loved to see another couple of seasons of it.

Don't get me wrong it was a fun show and it's own thing.

But MYAH is the better Skeletor.

I'm pretty sure Alan Oppenheimer is still alive and acting, so it could be doable.

Yep, he's still voicing characters, and has done Skeletor as recently as 2016, but did a clock in Bonnie's closet in Toy Story 4.

There's Skeletor and Man-at-Arms right there.

It would be fun to know he was giving Kevin Smith and the writers the business.
