It was going to most likely be the last season anyway. They're just using this as a reason to announce it now.

Should have terminated it at the Third Season. I won't go so far as to say terminated, but they should have had it planned to be a trilogy from the very start. Will go down as perhaps the textbook example of a show that went on way too long for its own good.

i really enjoy the show still. will be interesting to see how well they can wrap it up...or will it just end up like Bloodline.

How did they terminate it but still have a new season coming next year? Sounds like they just decided to wrap it up which we all kind of figured would come soon

Push Claire into politics and Frank making out with a man really ruined it. Hopefully they both are assassinated on the show.

I ENJOYED the show because of Doug, until they kept on and on with that Rachel Posner crap which led to him going off the rails.
The worst things to happen to House of Cards:
1) insisting that Claire be made relevant in the public's eye
2) Doug going off the rails
3) Keeping that biographer dude around. First, he's a terrible actor. Second, it just made no sense and added nothing to the plotline and overall story.

And why would a President keep a Biographer around during his own term? I can see Obama doing that now, but when he was President, I think he's got bigger things to worry about like whether to drone strike this place that is either an orphanage or a terrorist training camp.

I agree and this should be bumped up to #1 on your list. Since he was hanging around so much, at least make it more interesting and have Claire getting pregnant by him or something.

My guess is Spacey won't appear in any episodes.
They will imply he was killed in first episode and finish it out the best they can due to this story.
