This according to actress Amy Rutberg, who plays Foggy Nelson's girlfriend on Daredevil.

quote:

“My contacts at Marvel were very surprised. Any of the rumors that it was a Marvel decision are wrong, I think it was purely a Netflix decision. That comes from personal conversations with people high up at Marvel. They were surprised,” said Rutberg in an Inverse interview.

“We had heard rumors we would start production as early as February 2019,” she said. “It’s a little unusual to be that far ahead in the planning and cancel the show, which makes me think Netflix was laboring over whether or not to cancel it. My guess was it was not an easy decision.”

Worst decision ever. Netflix will regret. There has got to be a way to continue lots of viewers seems like a no brainer.

THey did it to hurt Marvel on purpose. Marvel is trying to frick over netflix by doing their own streaming service. When they are up and operational they would then take back Dare Devil and the rest.

Netflix seeing Disney try to hustle in on their territory fired all the Marvel shows staff so that it would make it harder for Disney Streaming service to do an easy take over of the following seasons.

This way the actors are all released and Disney will either have to

A. Waste money to retain them while they are trying to get Disney streaming service up. And those actors knowing how valuable they are will want to gouge Disney.

or

B. Keep it cancel if all the actors and actresses have found work else were.

Then they could do a reboot but Netflix made those shows so well people will expect that and so reboot and revamp might not go over well and do poorly, thus wasting money.

In one fell swoop Netflix crippled Daredevil, Luke Cage (black superhero) Jessica Jones (Woman geared show for feminist) and Iron Fist (Asian/China audiences) and made it poison for anyone else to follow their act.

Quite genius really.

It was. It seems like it was a preemptive act by Netflix to stop spending money on a show that won't be theirs in the very near future. All they're doing building up the shows so Disney can take over. They would rather spend that money on their own content. I can actually agree with them.

Disney was never taking those shows back. Viewership was declining and I'm sure the actors wanted more money. It just wasn't worth it.

Probably because Marvel pockets waaaay more of the money than Netflix does and they were probably going to movie it to Disney's new streaming service ASAP anyway. I fully expect it to be brought back exclusively on Disney's service.
