What a bummer. My wife and I are about halfway through this first season and was really enjoying this very character-drive show.

This was a "top 10" show on Netflix so I thought it was a good one to start as we are looking for new shows to check out.

Hilary Swank just doesn't carry the clout she used to.

We didn't finish it. It just never grabbed us enough to make us want to keep watching.

Sucks because it seemed like a good premise.

While I finished the season my complaint was the drama in space didn't start until very late in the season. I could see a lot of people watching well into the season and dropping it because it was so slow.

Yes it got significantly better around Ep 7. We watched it and enjoyed it but this is one of the more generic Netflix dramas that they specialize in. Another middling drama is always around to replace it.

I know they build their shows to algorithms but Netflix doesn’t have a lot of great original American dramas. It’s Ozark and that’s it right now.

Looked very boring. It shouldn’t take a good show 4 or more episodes to get going in my opinion. I’ve been guilty of recommending a show to someone and saying don’t worry, after the 5th or 6th episode it REALLY picks up.

Once they get to Mars the story is pretty much over. Half of the show was just a POS ship that is constantly breaking and they struggle to fix it. I guess they could also make the mars habitat a piece of crap. Would have to change the story drastically i guess.

I thought the forced made up drama was pretty terrible. And stupid stuff like when they fixed the solar panel. You can take 10 minutes and go back inside and get another tether line? Let me risk my life for no good reason.

LoL. I know they have to have problems in space to make the show interesting but damn. That would go down in history as the most doomed trip ever. Life threatening problem fixed? Whoopssy. Another one the next day.

I bet the cancellation could be budget based as well. Now that they are on Mars, its entirely new sets for the next season.

God what a boring existence. Netflix cancels stuff all the time now, if it made money for them they would absolutely not cancel it.

Netflix cancelled one of the best shows period in Mindhunter. Nothing is safe.

Ehh not really. David Fincher basically decided he wasn’t going to do a season 3 for a while as he made other projects and released the actors from their contracts so they could continue their careers

The second Fincher wants to starts that up again they will be all for it. Would hardly consider that a cancellation

I thought that was a Fincher decision?

It was. Fincher can do whatever he wants with Netflix at this point

If he wants 20 mind hunter seasons, they’ll say yes.

People forget he started this whole streaming madness by knocking the first season of House Of Cards out of the park

Begs the question why you aren't in the cycling season thread on MSB.

‘Away’ didn’t do particularly well for Netflix and was an NBC property that Netflix licensed. Not hard to see why they walked away.

When serialized shows like Away is made, it has a full story arc and it's such a screw job to the viewers to not finish the story to a point that wraps up loose ends.
