Need movie suggestions... HALP1!11!!

My SO and I recently were introduced to "Stranger Than Fiction" (Will Ferrell, Dustin Hoffman, etc.) and would love to find funny/quirky/fun/good movies like that to watch... any ideas?

To the OP’s request, STF is a pretty light dark comedy so,

I think Captain Fantastic (2016) was a really cool movie
Not quirky though but I been recommending that one a lot lately. I like the way the dad lets his kids debate their case. This isn’t a comedy though but has funny moments!
The Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016) is very fun comedy.
Also Housebound (2014) this is pretty good but I’m not sure how to label this genre.

There’s a movie called Timer, but I haven’t seen it yet. It might be similar to STF

Checked this out last night... it had some 'chuckle' moments... but all-in... I think it was a little TOO dark comedy for my SO and I...
Any other suggestions?
p.s. I was surprised that Fassbender's role (realizing it's him) was so small... I'm not even sure that it was him in the head the whole time

Someone already said it, but Being John Malcovich was the first movie that came to mind after reading your post. Now that I'm thinking about that that's making me thing about Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
