Watched it for 5 minutes a few episodes back and haven't missed a minute since. It's a boutique version of "Survivor". One day the people will get it on and it will move to Cinemax.

She had mentioned that as well. We split into two groups on that trip, at the time I was thankful I had the other guide.

While the other guide was awesome I kind of regret that now!

I'm watching the one in Panama right now. The girl is definitely impressive in her toughness, skill, and resolve. The guy reminds me of the main character from Eastbound and Down.

I caught some of this last night. I didn't watch the one in the jungle though...just the one where they were on the island, and then where they're in Africa.

I absolutely hate the way the show is edited, and I would almost bet money that the 21 days are bullshite. Like for the island one for example, after the worthless dude gets his sunburn and does nothing for like a week, what were they surviving on...just coconuts? They had no fresh water for a long time, and certainly no real food. And even when they did find water, it was disgusting and made the dude get sick. Something wasn't adding up it seemed like.

Not to mention they only ever show them catch one or two small animals to eat.

I agree the editing seems to make it look like they are just hanging out doing nothing for three weeks.

The guy in the Maldives should have been toast with that sunburn. They briefly stopped the one show for another guy with an abscess to get have it professionally drained.

You would think they did the same for the man's sunburn???

Also, I agree that they get some strange guys on this show. They mostly seem to be the billy badass types with a military survival background.

Most of the women appear to have more practical knowledge of basic survival skills. Perhaps this is done on purpose to show that women are as good or better in a survival situation.

That poor guy with the sunburn. They must have intervened because the sunburn basically was ruining the whole show. You can't function like that.

You would think the guy would have thought to get a base tan before the show. Especially as pale as he was.

Oh, and the random twitter messages that kept popping up every 30 seconds were very distracting.

The show definitely feels like it was created and catered toward women. No doubt.

No shite. That's almost as dumb as bringing goggles as your one item.

I assume that's the other one I recorded last night.

I can't tell if I like the show or not though. It's entertaining, sure. But I don't know if it's quite good enough to keep me interested. And of the 2 or 3 episodes I've seen, they all have almost the exact same "story."

I just hate how they'll spend like 10-15 minutes on the first day, and then blast through the other days like nothing happened. There will be a 5 second video diary comment, and that's all they show about Day 15. Or they'll pop up a little thing on the bottom that says "EJ dropped his camera into the fire one night" and that's all they say about Day 17. shite like that.

This must have been on the replays... I didn't see anything like this on the first-run episodes.

Probably. The guy brought fricking goggles as his one survival item.

For some reason I have to watch every week.

I do think they should have picked like 3-5 couples and followed them for a season. Then you could get more in depth with what they are doing without it being boring.

You guys would have built a 3,000 sq ft lean-to, complete with indoor plumbing and electricity before the first sundown. The monkeys would be serving you 5 course meals and doing your laundry each night.

I promise you, at the very least, if I was going on a show like this I would know how to make fire before I went. It's a learnable skill, why not learn it early?

Anyone going on this show should probably already know that, and probably already know several different methods of starting a fire.

Or they should ditch the goggles and bring a lighter.
