Except there was no CGI and they actually did those stunts.

....And he then proceeds to torture 007 using an elaborate, odd and unconventional method.

Geoffrey Holder and the theme song made up for it though.
For all the grief Roger Moore gets, I actually thought For Your Eyes Only was one of the best in the series. It was actually about espionage. And it had the most realistic and low-key ending of any Bond film ever made.

Maybe, but he could do that without swinging some weighted rope under a chair.
He even gives up after Bond tells him to F off and just starts to cut his nuts off.

At the end of The Spy Who Loved me, the credits boldly proclaim, “James Bond Will Return in For Your Eyes Only.” That got pushed to 1981, and Moonraker was fast tracked.

When the girl stuck her hand up his kilt to write on his leg with the lipstick, Bond kind of perked up and the woman villain asked him how he was feeling. He said, "just a stiffness coming on...in my shoulder." This is my first watch through the old Bonds so I find it funny to catch all the not so subtle innuendos.

To be fair, a golden gun would make a terrible weapon. Valuable for the gold, but anything beyond gold plated and it's going to be shitty. :)
Also, dumping Blofield into a smoke stack by catching his wheelchair with a helicopter always felt goofy to me.
