Anyone else see this piece of shite? I just turned it off about an hour in. The script was so ham handed that I'd swear Keith Olbermann wrote it. Not to mention that they decided to have everything to come out of Chastain's mouth be witty, sharp, and delivered before any other character could think. Seriously, who talks like that?

I tried to watch it awhile back and did the same as you with turning it off.

The dialogue reminded me of Sorkin shows, but 100x worse.

I got to the part where I realized Jessica Chastain just isn't a good actress and turned it off. In case you were wondering, it was when she laughed in the face of her gun client with that hackneyed, cliched, terribly delivered laugh.

Sorkin always said he grew up around college professors so he is just writing what he is always around.

The scene in mind hunters where the lady is with her girlfriend and the two other professors drinking wine while waxing over some nonsensical academia reminded me of a sorkin movie. When smart people try to sound smart it can be worse than dumb people trying

I loved that scene.

It's like, what they're saying isn't vapid, it's kind of the opposite.
They're trying so hard to sound above it, that they come off saying nothing of substance at all.

The effect is numbing.

I prefer Chastain in Jolene on her knees.... She did an amazing job playing a dumb broad.

Everytime I have to watch a commercial for the new Sorkin-Chastain movie about under ground gambling, I die a little inside

The Punisher is not only a good show, it also doesn’t take a side when it comes to politics. Which is great.

I watched the whole thing and found it mildly entertaining, but I do not disagree with your assessment.

I just read the Wikipedia synopsis of the film and came away with the conclusion that it's an anti-gun propaganda piece. Am I correct?

Jessica Chastain:

Too bad she's a bleeding heart liberal.

Saw about 15 minutes of it.

That was like Murphy Brown on steroids.

Reminded me of the satirical "fast talking career gal" of Jennifer Jason Leigh in Hudsucker Proxy.
