Yea at first I thought he was a try hard douche for the camera. After the end of the episode I think it's just his personality.

Yeah I think we’ve all met a Doug or two in our lifetime

Mine does that too, I just wait for her to go asleep and watch. Or I'll get up early and watch in the living room.

I read the article that The Daily Beast did when they broke this story a couple of years ago and it’s pretty wild. Would recommend it if you’re intrigued by the story and want to supplement the documentary.

I read that too when it came out. Fascinating, though a tiny bit spoilerish for folks new to the story.

It’s a great article, I thought, “How do I not already know about this?” The answer is the big indictments and press release issued on 9/10, then 9/11 hit and swept it almost completely out of the news.

It would be interesting to know the top 100 share holders for McDonalds. I wonder it's it old money dudes or modern money entrepreneurs.

man Doug is a douche, he's definitely hamming it up hoping to parlay this into some kind of TV role. Probably should have been pulled from the case for the gold suit move, what a tool.

I learned to like Doug as it went on, because I realized it wasn’t a show, I think that’s just how he is

How he made it to be an FBI agent with that personality is a mystery

I am feeling incredulous that this guy Doug is still with the FBI. That guy acts like some kind of idiot or child.

I mean, at this point, I might as well put in my application for the Bureau. If that is somehow the standard, I might have a chance if I can sit still and keep my hands to myself.

I could actually see him being quite excellent at questioning suspects and talking to witnesses, especially as a polar opposite to most agents.

Doesn’t appear he’s risen up the ranks, which isn’t shocking, but I can certainly see him being useful.

I wish they'd have harped more on how dangerous it was for 4 undercover fbi agents to protect a McDonald's employee from a fat slob 65 year old prize winner. They acted like they were infiltrating the mob.

I'm really going to enjoy this series. Doug cracked me up. I kept thinking that they probably gave him this case as a joke since he was new and then it actually turned into something.

this bothered the shite out of me.

tbf, i suppose they could have legitimately been infiltrating the mob and hindsight is 20/20 but it still seemed ridiculous.

They didn't know who they were dealing with. When parking meters go missing it might be happy-go-lucky Cool Hand Luke, or it might be Sonny Black's killer crew from Donnie Brasco.

They were dealing with millions in theft. Any U.S. or foreign mob would've loved to have been in on that.

Mentioning it once would've been fine. Having 5 agents mention it 3 times each was ridiculous.

Surprised to see so much hate on Doug. I liked him and could see how he’s a good agent

Even his boss said he could get the wall to talk to him. He’s not as dumb as he looks

i liked doug a lot. surprised at the hate in here. he's honest, seemingly self-aware of his personality, and seems like a good dude.

Because he has a goofy, loud personality, and is a bit of a wild card? What exactly did he do in episode 1 that makes you so certain that he is unqualified for his job?

He was the one that put his nose into this case and realized that there was something fricky going on, and his idea to go undercover like that made it incredibly easy for them to trojan horse their way right in there. Also, his coworkers clearly seemed to like him.

I think he is hilarious. I laughed out loud several times.

As far as the over-reaction to going under cover with a Mcdonalds employee, can you imagine the shite storm that would ensue if something happened to her during that operation? It didn't seem like it was that big of a risk, but there WAS a risk involved. And the bad side of that risk likely would've been a scandal with people losing their jobs.
