And that is putting it nicely.

On paper AOTC should have been great (Christopher Lee, Anakin beheads Sandpeople, sees his mom die, the Fetts, Clones, etc.) but it was a mess and my least favorite. The SFX were the worst out of all of the movies (Anakin riding the animal in the field, Anakin frog jumping, shots of Naboo, etc). They didn't even reshoot the Jedi Council scenes. They cut and pasted the shots from TPM and just added Obi Wan and Anakin in place of Qui Gon And Obi Wan.

AMEN, this was maybe the biggest thing that bothered me about the new trilogy. The force was WAY to strong

Funnily enough I just watched Mr. Plinkett's reviews of the whole new trilogy, so so awesome

In ROTS, why would the emperor want to fix a burnt to a crisp Anakin and make him Darth Vader. He should of just kicked him in the Lava and told the others, "We need to go turn whomever did this to the dark side because that is the badass MF that I am looking for".

I actually enjoy the force powers in The Force Unleashed but yeah, it has to follow the rules set in the OT. I would be okay with the Emperor having these powers, however.

I think I hate the use of CGI in 1-3 even more than the acting.

With the exception of brief scenes on Tatooine and Naboo the entire movie was shot in front of a green screen. This can be done well, but it was far to often obvious in these movies.

As mentioned in the article, use of models can add tangible depth that many CGI works seem to lack. I hope they can blend together the cinematic styles in the new movies.

There was a special edition dvd release of the trilogy that included the original versions. They used the laserdisc master to create them if I remember correctly.

I payed out the arse to get those dvds but at least I own the originals.

I got 4 and 5 for $10 a piece at Walmart a few years ago.

Star Wars - Amazon

The Empire Strikes Back - Amazon

The SFX don't hold up well either. I mean look at how bad Jabba looked in the Special Edition.

Serious question. Who is going to be the villain in the new movies? Luke already brought balance to the force and Palapatine is gone. Is there going to be a Sith that pops out of nowhere? I really question to motives to make 3 new Star Wars movies. I understand that they will make a lot of money, but I think it will ruin the franchise in the end. The last 3 were mediocre at best.

So much of what bothered me about the CGI of the prequels was the way that it stripped out the gritty, organic environments of episodes 4-6.

I remember watching the making of "Rerun of the Jedi" and just seeing all of the work and care that went into making Jabba the Hutt or his sail barge. It was incredible and it had a depth and scope that CGI couldn't replicate.

I think it also effects the way actors act. Part of acting is the interaction with ones environment. If you're standing in front of a green screen for the entire shoot, I'd imagine it gets hard to sell your character.

I'd honestly keep the Sith out entirely and make it a new alien race.

One of the top 5 worst parts of the new trilogy.

A firm number 2 after the failure of establishing Obi Wan and Anakin's friendship.

I still think Yoda's monologue about the force to luke is the best moment in cinematic history.

Also one of the most astounding when you go back and look at the prequels. Completely misses the point.

The John Carter movie had similar looking scenes that were done far better.

There are already way too many sentient alien species all relatively "playing nice" for this to work IMO.

Also the force was over the top in the prequels, but it should be stronger than the half-assed version left by the time Luke gets his training. As of the start of New Hope there are only 4 Jedi left right?

Some of us still have them on Laserdisc

I have DVD copies authored from the laserdisc versions as compiled by the nerds at originaltrilogy.com.

I've got lots of different versions, including the wookie grooomer split-screen edition that simultaneously shows the original version and the craptastic special editions.

Adywan's edits were pretty good as well.
