re: Mandalorian Episode 4 thread

Steep drop off from the first 3 episodes. The love story between Mando and the village woman was incredibly forced and cringe worthy.

First 3 episodes were 10/10. This was a 7/10.
The romance angle was necessary to set a baseline for the character. Now we know his reaction in that scenario for future episodes.

Character building episodes can be bland, and this was no exception.

The shite with Yoda in the cockpit was funny as hell

re: Mandalorian Episode 4 thread
I don't see what was bad.

Complaints I've seen here.

1. She punched his armor.
a. She is wearing durasteel armor and has armored gloves and wrists.
b. The first punch she held her hand like it was hurt.
C. She hit with the wrist armor after that.

2. The shrimp were called krill, this isn't "alien" enough.
a. Star wars has commonly used earth animal names and added a planet name or description.
i - Womp Rats
ii - Loth Cats
iii - Kiro Birds

b. It could then be assumed some people would drop the first part of the name in common usage. We rarely identify shrimp by subspecies.

3. The woman knew how to shoot, but was a villager.
a. Obviously she has a past, possible her husband or herself were part of the Empire. Likely not the rebellion or wouldn't be in hiding.

4. The At-St
a. Obviously after the fall of such a large military, items would be scattered all over.

5. The tracker
a. The tracker is biological, it has a short range.
b. One would have to be in the general area to track.
c. The bounty hunter likely tracked the Mando or heard about the ruckus.
i- had the range been long more would show up.
ii- the show went out the way to explain how remote the planet was.

None of the complaints hold up.

Was that a Loth cat from Rebels that growled at baby yoda?

Yes, that was a Loth Cat.
They are pushing those at Galaxy' Edge and have an animatronic one in a shop in a cage.

I thought episode 4 was really bad. If the beginning of the series had been like that episode I don't know that I'd still be watching.

The ladies in my office are obsessed with the romance angle of this episode and were dissappointed he didn't settle down with the girl at the end of the episode. 4 episodes in and they want the entire series shot to hell .

re: Mandalorian Episode 4 thread
Half way through this episode and i feel like im not watching the same show. Everything feels SO so rushed.

ETA: Just finished. What a steaming, heaping pile of dog shite. What the frick??? Why does this episode exist? They built zero emotional capital in this episode and in the end we have a little girl hugging baby yoda like she’s putting down her family pet. Then we have the bitch falling in love with Mando because why.....ohh wait noone cares why because it fricking sucks.

Yeah, I don't understand this complaint. The prawns looked cool as shite and you have to think that, given the way life gets scattered around the universe and finds its way to earth-like planets, some of the same types of creatures would evolve. Prawns are very common animals and there are numerous species of them.

Karelian ships.
Wedge Antilles
Camino

I think Lucas used to just thumb through encyclopedias looking for interesting names.

Also, I love the casting of Gina as the female bounty hunter. We always complain about skinny chicks doing badass things in movies, like lesbian Batman, but Gina actually could beat most of our asses. She's not the greatest actor, but she's not bad and fills her role well.

watched it last night. Was pretty sub-par compared to first three episodes.. then you see who directed it and makes sense.

Weak episode but whatever.

Are the people behind the movie trilogy completely different than the people making the show? What gives exactly.

Yes. This show is Jon Favreau's baby.

Let me guess, SJW wah! Too many women, wah!!!

It also certainly did create emotional capital, but you were too busy hating the bitch to see the obvious.

Check my post history bruv and you’ll see that I constantly make fun of the triggered right wing snowflakes so you can shelve that.

I think you SW fanbois so desperately want the IP to return to form that you’re giving a pass to this obvious piece of shit, and thats fine. Understandable even. But this episode was a complete rush job piece of shite. Sorry

I loved the first 3 episodes. I've told all of my friends that the show is great. I still agree with this on the 4th episode. It had a completely different feel to it than the first 3. The opening scene seemed cheesy. I can't really put my finger on it, but it just did not hit. The rest of the episode was ok, but it did not have the same vibe as the rest of the show. I would say that time limitations of the show hurt the story they were trying to tell here.
