re: Mandalorian Episode 4 thread
The series is kinda good, short episodes don't help, but they released to make a ton off of bay yoda merch, how man of your kids want one>

re: Mandalorian Episode 4 thread
Couple of thoughts:

Loved the episode and love the series.

The darkness for the final battle was probably a CGI cost cutting measure as animating the AT-ST in broad daylight would have been more expensive.

I’m fine with that. It was a great sequence.

Also, the AT-ST looked stripped down from what we saw in ESB and ROTJ. I can’t put my finger on it but it looked like it didn’t have the armor plating we see in the OT at least on it’s legs and feet.

Oh. Yeah he is. Starting to think this show may not end with him still a Mandelorian.

Almost took his helmet off to get a little Star Wars poon.

Rewatched the AT-ST fight.

It was an AT-ST with no armor plating top to bottom.

That had to be on purpose.

Weakest episode so far to me. The "almost" relationship with the woman sucked. The fight with Carano was weak too, agree with others a punch to his helmet shouldn't hurt him much if at all. Seems like all he needed to do was get in his ship and use it's turrets to take out the AT-ST.

Ugh. I was loving this show and I still do. But I knew the SJW crap was gonna force its way into the show at some point. Took 4 episodes, but its here.

You are a miserable frick, the kind that finds a SJW agenda in the Arquette/Gandolfini scene in True Romance. Probably got upset because you were fapping to it until she used the corkscrew.

Whats the running explanation on this tracker device?

I could be way off but I remember Vader having a way to track down Jedi during their purge. I wonder if this is a similar tracker

Lastly, the relationship between Mando and the woman seemed unnecessary and fell flat for me. It would have been enough to have them interact without forcing a relationship component. Mando is still establishing his lone ranger tone.

I would think he would disable the tracker. It has bothered me. Mando should know better.

I was just telling my wife this. He knows they have some sort of way of tracking this kid, but he’s going to leave him on a Planet alone?!! He hasn’t even tried to investigate the source or means they are tracking him by. Wtf

I’m guessing it’s some kind of biological tracker and Mando knows that. Doesn’t make sense why he would leave him on that planet tho.

This is what I’m talking about. He’s supposedly the best bounty hunter in the galaxy but seems oblivious to the fact that baby Yoda is being tracked. He hasn’t bothered to investigate it or even tried to disable it. It’s going to look ridiculous if 5 or 6 episodes deep he finally gets curious about it.

re: Mandalorian Episode 4 thread
Wasn't bad but it didn't feel like Star Wars at all to me.

Closer to a Firefly or STNG episode, mainly because of the unimaginative dialogue.

-The Brooklyn/Jewish-accent on the waitress/barkeep was out of place and every line she was given could have been said by a waitress in a modern tv movie.

-Had a problem with farmed crustaceans, Krill, being called Krill. First time I can recall an actual earth creature's name being used in SW. Very STNG.

-I'll at least give them credit for changing Vodka to Splotchka, but it c'mon.

I found the episode a little too safe and syrupy. Then I see Bryce Dallas Howard directed. It was just ok. Probably works better as a take-a-breath episode for someone who will binge all 8 episodes at once.

re: Mandalorian Episode 4 thread
This entire episode was a waste.

No one cares about the village, their problems, the raiders, or any part of this conflict. This entire episode was a collection of tropes coupled with some horrible writing.
