Another great episode. And it is 40 minutes long.

Good episode. The theme just continues to grow on me, gets better and better.

Decent, not great episode but still a great show overall. I like the setting a lot, post empire but still some empire loyalist folks around and people using their old weapons and such. This episode gave me a US helping Afghanistan versus Russia vibe, which was interesting. Still very curious about “Baby Yoda’s” extreme importance. Can’t wait for next episode.
Edit: also like how they handle references to original trilogy and lore without making it all “hey remember THIS?!?!” They introduce an AT-ST without a bunch of BS fanfare, like the raiders stumbled across an abandoned one or something and commandeered it and that’s all you need to know. Although maybe the empire supplied these raiders to pillage these farms, who knows? It’s interesting.

Dude, you can see the Yoda spinoff series from a mile away.

This episode was OKAY for me. A few issues in the logic.
1. The village runs away totally helpless in the first attack but within a day they know how to fight with wooden staffs and shoot? Especially the one woman?
I'm just trying to rationalize the quick turnaround from scared cowards to fierce capable fighters. A village like that stayed totally peaceful and untouched during the entire reign of the republic and empire? And no one in the village had to ever fight and shoot at any point except that one single woman? And there was imperial machinery found abandoned in the area?
2. When the Mandalorian was talking about leaving Yoda, how was the bounty tracker not the first thing on his mine? OH YEAH THERE IS AN ENTIRE GALAXY LOOKING TO FIND HIM AND KILL HIM! Did mando go brain dead?
Lastly, the relationship between Mando and the woman seemed unnecessary and fell flat for me. It would have been enough to have them interact without forcing a relationship component. Mando is still establishing his lone ranger tone.
Okay episode for me, definitely the worst so far.

In the EU the Emperor hide was caches all over the Outer Rim, which is where this takes place. When the Emperor was killed and the 2nd Death Star destroyed the empire commanders still alive retreated to the Outer Rim. They still had a large force and a lot of weapons along with hidden bases that were previous built.
Think the fall of the USSR with remaining generals running around with their own army.

We do not know her back story and where she learned to shoot. The only thing we know is there were no guns in the village before he arrived. Also this is the Outer Rim and the Republic never ventured out here and when the Empire was defeated at Endor they retreated to the Outer Rim where they already had hidden bases.
The woman may not be from there. She may be hiding to. Either way you become a lot braver when you have 2 bad assess show up with weapons.

I am not sure that tracker has the range. I think his ship was being tracked. Remember he was giving the coordinates to find the planet of the last known place the baby Yoda was seen. Even when he 1st landed the tracker had a weak signal. So I assume he felt the planet was out of the way for anyone to come looking for it. So my guess is his ship was being tracked from the last episode.

It looked like Cara was trying to force the relationship on him and he was like "Nope, I'm good"

Yes but this doesnt account for the entire village but her being deficient in any combat related activities. Are you telling me that band of dudes invading their village just randomly one day decided to attack their village and that was the first time those villagers had ever been attacked ever? And the only one who had any experience was a petite single mom?
I'm having to suspend a lot of logic in the SW universe to make this work.
This isnt a pre-Clone Wars conflict. War has been going on for awhile throughout the galaxy. You cant convince me these villagers had no issues throughout the war time, especially knowing there was a nearby imperial presence.

No it's very clear the tracker is attached to the baby Yoda. It's the exact same tracker Mando used to find him in the first place and it's the exact tracker that was blinking before all the bounty hunters recognized Mando had retaken him.
Same trackers Carl Weathers was handing out to pick up other bounties.

Really enjoyed this episode. This episode confirmed that he’s not ethnically a Mandalorian, but was taken in by a Mandalorian tribe after his parents were killed, right? This was implied in prior episodes and he actually discussed it with the village woman. One can imagine a potential end to this season where he returns to the village and removes his helmet, never to go back to the Mandalorian life (until trouble arises in Season 2).

Can anyone help with how dark the scenes are on my TV? I’ve seen other people on her comment the same but usually get downvoted. The scenes indoors and at night are literally just a black screen at points. I can’t make out anything happening unless there is some source of light in the shot.
I googled and found a thread on Reddit discussing the problem and explaining it. Way over my head but the general idea was Disney has majorly messed up the HDR on this show. They recommend turning it off when watching but I can’t do that when I go into my TV settings. I have a brand new, latest version Sony. When I go in settings where the HDR is there is nothing but I think that’s because it is showing me settings for “cable/antenna” and not for anything else.
Can anyone help me out? Anyone else had this problem and found a fix?

Another solid episode. Had to turn up my brightness setting to help see the night scenes better. Seeing Bryce Dallas Howard’s name pop up for directing caught me by surprise

I guess I’ll try just turning up brightness as well. Too bad we can’t see this as intended. I always was surprised to see her name.
