Not hearing much about it, and did a search only to turn up 1 page of "it's coming out" posts from like October.
Well trying to stay as spoiler free as possible.... Holy shite! It was such a real movie and I know it's gonna hit home for a lot of people. I've been VERY fortunate to have a stable support network and never came close to suffering a remotely similar situation on 2 fronts that his character faced, but damn.... it was crazy how well this movie captured some dreams that I still have on the reg, and took me to a very dark place where I was at mentally about 6-7 years ago. I could see this going either way for a disturbed vet fighting demons. It could be very therapeutic, or send you into a very emotional tailspin.
Anyone seen it? Opinions?
And even if you hate Shia LeBeouf the man, he killed this role, pretty much like he does most roles IMHO.

I'll check it out. Unpopular opinion: I think Shia is a good actor and I like most stuff he's been in.

I really like Shia LaBeouf as an actor, douchey real life person but I like most of his roles

I happened to watch this back to back with "American Honey" this wknd. I felt like he was phenomenal in both of them because in both roles, I forget he's Shia LeBeouf. And American Honey felt so much more like a documentary or like it was Big Brother or Real World or something. Both movies are kind of "out of the box" and made me feel a tad bit out of my comfort zone at moments. I tend to like movies that do that to me.

The acting was pretty good, but I wasn't crazy about the movie. It had a good overall message, but it wasn't well executed.

SPOILERS:......
I think what got me was that I really bought into the trailer and then the beginning. So it was a pretty big "A-ha" moment for me. I won't pretend like I saw that coming.
