24Now as a preface I realize that SNL is now a shell of itself and a cathedral of the woke. But a 1990s Lorne would be slobbering over Tim Dillon being a member of the cast.
Right now all the show has is Kate McKinnon. Once she’s gone, no sane person will tune into the show unless one hell of a stand up comedian hosts it. Seriously only Kate and Kenan would qualify as Top 100 members of the historic SNL cast. They’re all fricking pathetic.
Tim Dillon would probably be a Top 10 if not Top 5 member of SNL of all time. If Norm MacDonald and Artie Lange had a baby and it turned out to be slightly gay, that would be Tim Dillon. I really think he’s a comic genius and would make that show incredible. Granted everyone on the current cast would loathe him entirely since he’s actually funny and willing to be offensive.
His celebrity impersonations are much like Norm where he doesn’t even bother to change anything about himself and just mocks the concept of being a celebrity. And he’d have to get Weekend Update as well and be the true heir to Norm.
Granted his star is on the rise and wouldn’t do it (nor would I tell him to do such and just laugh with him if he were in the 90s this would be his path to stardom), but I think Tim Dillon would be the only chance that show had of succeeding from this day forward since once Kate leaves they’re basically finished.

The problem is Tim Dillon is like Norm where he actively tries to destroy his own career by shitting all over anyone with authority. It’s what makes him great though too.

And he plays his same stupid Kenan bull shite character with the same stupid smirk and grinning through his lines. In every single sketch. He’s awful and I honestly have no idea how people like him. My assumption is that they remember him fondly from the Nickelodeon days. And it baffles me that he’s the longest tenured member too.

No producer of any show has ever done that with any comedian. Not sure why you’d think that Lorne Michaels would suddenly want to gamble his show away.

For all of SNL’s problems, this is an epically bad take. Kenan has been the best thing in so many crap sketches I’ve lost count. Kate McKinnon, however, is wildly overrated.
