Says the guy crying about a show not being made the way he wanted.

If everything you said about me is true I got Exactly what I want while you cry on the internet.

It’s amazing that all of you lost but think insulting someone on the TV section of a LSU Message board can get you a W.

You think Peter Jackson properly "did" The Hobbit? That man got too "big" for his britches. Had no one to tell him to take his hand off the CGI button. The Hobbit sucked.

He only had a year to prepare for it unlike three that he had for the Lord of the Rings. No excuse for how Azog looked (he should have at least gotten that one right), but he didn’t have the time to make all the props, costumes, and masks like he did last time. Jackson is really the only thing that kept it from completely falling apart.

Ok snowflake, if you say so.

You’re the one claiming now that nobody wants to see darker skinned people? Bold move Cotton.

Different regions have different looking people. That’s reality & also reflected in Tolkien’s works.

Don’t melt.

No it wouldn’t.

It makes sense in-world of the show.

Not in Tolkien’s world, which is what this is based on. But do explain it, if the show you’ve not seen, how such things as black elves, dwarves hobbits exist, but then don’t exist before or after.

You see, this is why you’re nothing but a troll. I’m working with in the world to show you what you claim you want & how it can exist, but you reject it out outright .

Cry harder loser.

Next time, maybe you should get a few million together and buy the rights to your favorite franchise.

Idk what living in your mothers basement pays these days.

Wrong, no one wants to see stories that happen in a corner of the world unrelated to the main story line.

Different regions have different looking people. That’s reality & also reflected in Tolkien’s works.

We get that. We just don’t agree it’s so important to the works that changing that teaks the foundation.

Based on. So it’s not 100% the same.

In the shoes world they do exist before and after. This isn’t Peter Jackson’s world.

How many times do I hbe Yo say this, I didnt Make the show. You’re not working with me you’re telling me your preference and I disagree With it.

I don’t have much interest in a show completely outside the main story.

Also, when have I ever Claimed to want any of this? My whole point is that either way it’s not that big a deal because there is a lot more to Tolkien. Like there is more to Shakespeare.

You’re the one limiting his works to descriptions of characters like the plot and themes don’t matter or somehow hinge on the skin color of the characters

Yeah those mostly positive reviews look terrible.

From what's been released so far, there are less outright negative reviews than positive.

Not sure how anyone can make a determination that it's "not looking good so far" when the public hasn't even viewed it yet. That's what will determine its success anyway. And critic reviews and public reviews haven't always been congruent (or even congruent with actual viewership numbers).

Have you read Tolkien? I’m sorry, but just what has been shown so far is blasphemous. Galadriel being a warrior princess is completely out of character. Celebrimbor looks like fricking Liberace. I’m sorry, this show is not worth giving a chance. It’s dead on arrival.

Because they didn’t exist. Groups of people evolve on their own. It’s not a club or nationality. There would be no reason for a black dwarf, elf, or hobbit. None.

That goes back to when I was talking about how groups of people in different parts of world look different.

Dwarves pre-date men, so why in the hell would there be a black dwarf? Same with elves. for fricks sake, I try to meet you halfway creatively, and you stubbornly cross your arms , hold your breath and pout like a little child.

Go frick off.

Yes, I've read some Tolkien. But I also said in the other thread I'm not going to get upset if it's not a page-to-screen adaptation either.

There's an assumption that the only folks that are going to watch this are people who are Tolkien die-hards. I know lots of folks who loved Jackson's Lord of the Rings but never even picked up Tolkien that will also likely watch this.

But it’s more than that. This is what Celebrimbor is supposed to look like:

Instead this is what we got:

I’m sorry, they replaced the most badass and important elf of the Second Age with Liberace. It’s a blatant insult to the fans. It’s not worth giving it a chance.
