New Space Jam, new Lola Bunny. The director of "Space Jam: A New Legacy" has "reworked" Lola Bunny's role for the reboot -- claiming he wasn't comfortable with the "very sexualized" way she came off in the original back in 1996.

The man behind the film is Malcolm D. Lee -- who has worked on flicks like "Girls Trip," "Undercover Brother" and "Night School" ... he's also Spike Lee's cousin!! Now that he's taken over the reins of the legendary "Space Jam" franchise, Lee wanted to make sure Lola Bunny would be a strong role model for young people.

"This is 2021," Lee told Entertainment Weekly. "It's important to reflect the authenticity of strong, capable female characters."

I mean it's always a little weird when they over sexualize cartoon characters, especially animal ones. That being said, I don't see how she's "strong".

Also by the way if you watch this movie, you are a dirty commie as far as I’m concerned. May as well watch a film produced by Goebbels given what Lebron has excused.

This movie has “flop” written all over it.

Oh, wait. That’s just LeBron.

So they turned down the cartoon rabbit sexualizing from 11 to, what, a 7.5? And people will probably still be mad that this sequel is ruining their childhood dreams of porking a cartoon rodent.

Can't wait.

This movie is going to bomb so bad Lebron is going to have to graffiti a few theaters to try to be a victim

I think this will be the ultimate test of just how powerful millenial nostalgia is because this only exists because of said nostalgia

Because making a female bunny less babe and more butch is what this world needs.

As a kid who watched and absolutely loved space jam, it never once crossed my mind how "sexualized" Lola bunny was. It was meant to represent a girl rabbit, that's it.

Some things are really that simple but that's difficult for 2021 when a team of academic social scientists have to evaluate everything before it can be "approved" viewing.

Ummm... The 1996 bunny looks far more "strong" and athletic than the frumpy, big hipped unathletic looking slob on the right.

Are they also gonna give her a blue dye job, hairy armpits and a bull nose piercing?

Looks like they changed her from the early 20's single Lola who lives in the gym to the early 30's single mom who likes to do butt stuff after the kids go to bed.

Either way, IWHI.

Unfortunately it won’t... even if it does in the US. I’ll put it this way, when I lived in Beijing had a 6’5 black friend where we got into everywhere for free by lying he was Lebron James (somewhat looked like him at the time) and got served like kings. They really, really love that mother fricker so even if it bombs here, it’s not bombing there.
