I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. It is kind of like a hillbilly version of Ocean's 11.

It was a good watch.

Same director, so that's why it had the same feel.

Fun Fact: Soderbergh grew up in BR, went to U-high, and his dad was the LSU Dean of the College of Education

One of my favorite movies from last year.

Elvis' granddaughter is a smoke show.

I also had Take Me Home, Country Roads stuck in my head for awhile after watching it.

If you've ever scene Jescoe White, Adam Driver sounds exactly like him in this movie. Good representation of the Southern WV dialect in this movie.

I thought it was hilarious. When I first saw Kylo Ren talking with a WV accent, I thought, "that's what's been missing in those lame arse Star Wars movies"

I give it a 7+ Oceans 11 meets Talladega Nights kinda sorta.

Fun Fact: They never mention it in the film, but Channing Tatum's character played football at LSU.

You mean except for the scene where they talk about Tatum playing football for LSU for about 30 seconds??

LSU is mentioned, but not in context with Tatum's character. When they show a photo of him in football gear, it's not LSU (possibly his high school photo). They never mention his playing college, only that he was a high school hero destined for the NFL (at one time).

Is there a director's cut where this happens? Because in the theatrical release, the old lady tells him why she loves the color purple and LSU, but they never mention that he played there.

It's easy to infer that he played for LSU, but no, it is never explicitly stated

Yeah. I thought it was assumed he blew out his knee playing ball at LSU

Assumed. Also an assumed hatred of Les Miles.
