The plot of that movie is very paper thin, but it’s probably the TNG movie most like the series.

I think it’s obvious that the producers slapped together a movie as quickly as possible to get it out by the end of 1994. They really wanted to follow up the series finale with a movie as quickly as possible.

The slapped togetherness of the movie is apparent in the visual effects. They reused the Bird of Prey explosion from Star Trek VI.

(First Contact, while better on a technical level, went for the “action” film approach which is nothing like TNG.)

Yeah but having Kirk and Picard on screen at the same time was awesome.

The destruction of the Enterprise could have been written better.

Great revenge movie. And Alfre Woodard and James Cromwell were great in it.

The 24th century boards of inquiry must have been really understanding (or "will be" really understanding, I guees)

How Riker and Geordi, at least, never took the fall for that one is a mystery. Somebody had some favors that needed to be called in for sure.

They had their hands full determining where all the shattered glass came from.

Why in the world did they change Data's color for the movies?

?

Are you sure the color change you’re seeing isn’t due to the way the movie was lit?

There’s far less light in the movie version of the Enterprise D. Then again, maybe they did change the color, I don’t know.
