Let's discuss Cersei Lannister
So she is the main villian for 8 seasons who multiple characters want to kill. She is an evil major character.

And they let her die in comfort in the arms of her brother? She did not deserve a fast death like that. I honestly would have rather Arya have killed her.

It was rushed and extremely anticlimactic

It was
too much plot armor.

Actually it was a fitting death.

All her scheming, arrogance, evil, everything she endured and she had the sobering realization that she was no longer invincible and died without any fanfare.

She didn’t deserve to go down with Jaime. It’s the death she always craved, so yes she deserved worse.

re: Let's discuss Cersei Lannister
She died literally being crushed by the power she seeked

I thought it was fine

I don’t get this complaint.

This whole episode was basically her death. It was 80 minutes of her dying. Slowly realizing there is no hope, there is no way for her to weasel out of this one alive. We even see her in deep sorrow and regret at the end, desperately wishing she wouldn’t die and knowing that she could have survived this but made a bad decision.

She was literally crushed under the weight of the one place she always wanted to be. She lied, cheated, murdered, betrayed, backstabbed all to gain control of the RK. Everyone claims she lived her children more than anything but she put them at risk as she vied for control of the Iron Throne. And as KL is destroyed and she realizes, this time, none of it matters except her living so her baby can live, all of her past sins come crashing down to kill her.

I liked her death.

I liked it, not everybody gets an epic death dealt by a mortal enemy. Getting crushed while escaping in disgrace was kind of perfect actually.

I kind of wish the Hound had killed her like the Mountain did Qyburn

re: Let's discuss Cersei Lannister
In a standard length season with competent writing, Cersei would have been more involved with the plot all along (perhaps venturing North, then fleeing with her troops before the battle).

She and Dany would have been written to trend towards each other's personalities, then swap at a precise moment. Hypothetically, maybe Bronn/random archer takes out Tyrion while he's begging Cersei at the wall prompting Robert Strong to behead Missandei, crystallizing Cersei's regret about her past and Dany's certainty about her future. Her actual death itself doesn't really matter towards her character - she loses when she realizes none of it was worth it.

Instead, we got Cersei off-screen for 95% of this season. And for the vast majority of her screentime, she was standing on a balcony sneering. Then, when they did the personality swap at a random moment, it wasn't as affecting.

My issue with Cersei this season is that she's turned into Bran basically. We got 90mins of watching her just stare from that tower. I'll never believe she didn't have a backup plan no matter how confident she was in winning.

It would have been more poetic if she and Jamie had their final embrace and the some wildfire took them out.

It was actually the death he wanted.

Which would piss me off if I still actually cared.

It was poetic justice for them to die like that, alone and everything crumbled around them.

What about Jaime? Id be fricking pissed if i gave up a life in Winterfell and came back to die like this

i had to laugh when Qyburn told her it wasn't safe in the red keep any longer

he was probably about 30 minutes late with that news

re: Let's discuss Cersei Lannister
Her dying in her brother’s arms like this is a prophecy twist.

She had been told for years she would die with her brother’s hands around her neck, which is why she was always so suspicious of Tyrion.

Dying with Jamie hugging her at the time is about a big a twist on that prophecy as possible.

That part of the prophecy wasn't included in the show, and there's no way in hell Fat Man kills those two that way.

For 98% of this season she stood on a balcony staring out at King’s Landing with a sly smile on her face.
