Cale Boyter is overseeing, which is not a good sign. Produced a lot of different movies including Pacific Rim 2, most of them have been crap.

If Guillermo couldn't get good writing in a mecha movie like Pacific Rim, I don't see how this one could possibly measure up to the highly regarded seres. Hell, it probably won't measure up to the cheesy ones.

All I know is if this motherfricker shows up

then my 11 year old inner child will be there on opening night.

I truly hope it's great, but I've pretty much accepted that the first Pacific Rim is the closest we may ever get to a quality gundam movie (for whatever reason. There seems to be plenty of demand for it).

The thing about Gundam when I was watching it as a 10-11 year old was that a lot of the plot lines were pretty advanced for kids that age. There’s a ton about politics and betrayal and all that, which would play really well into a more adult movie (alongside the badass mobile suits). But we all know it’ll be cheesy as hell to suit the kids and rake in the money.

I'd rather a Robotech movie, but I'll take it.

Can't be worse than G-Savior.

I'd like to see them do the Colony Drop in live action. That would be a great war movie.

One Year War using the movie trilogy to help slim the focus.

Or just go G-Gundam since they already have with Pacific Rim.

If Deathscythe and Heavy Arms is in it I will literally just throw my money at the screen.

Truth.

If Deathscythe is in this, Scruffy will be on it like a virgin on their waifu.

I know I’m courting downvotes, but what is Gundam?

User Hopsondawg used to fricks with some Gundam Wing on Toonami after school back in the '90s. Will go see this in theaters regardless of reviews.

Probably the easiest movie to do well would be an 08th MS Team adaptation, but of course, no movie studio in history would allow a franchise to begin in media res.

And Zechs Merquise too..

Watched the after school late 90s block on Toonami just like I did, huh??? My ultimate recollection was DBZ, Gundam Wing, and Ronin Warriors...it was the best.

And out of all of those, I always thought Gundam Wing was by far the most "live action" friendly. The plotlines in GW were so political in nature and made up of coups and military strategy and ego and freedom fighters and martyrs and on and on. It was so advanced for "kids" show.

I'm in regardless, but if Deathsycthe II makes an appearance, I'll shat myself in the theater....

I think everyone in this thread did.

DBZ
Ronin Warriors
Gundam Wing
Tenchi Universe
Outlaw Star

I'd fricking kill for an immaculately produced live action Outlaw Star adaptation.

Didn't "Reboot" come on then too? Like the conclusion eps. that ABC never aired.

That show, just like DBZ, would always cut off at a certain point then start over...
