Just started watching Vikings about a week ago

Pretty good show. I'm about to start season 4. And it looks like Hulu just added season 5. I'm sure the show isn't completely with the history, the story, and the language. But overall, I think it's worth a look. I think when I finish Vikings, I'll finish The Last Kingdom.

last kingdom is better in some ways (alfred) but vikings is awesome

When I started Vikings I was hooked. I stopped in Season 4, it just got repetitive to me.

I'm guessing Alfred is one of those Tv characters you start out disliking, and then over time he becomes more likable. Cause I have to say... dude seemed like a PRIIIIIIICK the first two episodes.

The princess? How is she annoying?
Never mind. Don't answer that. I just realized every time she's on screen I'm not even paying attention to what's going on cause her beauty is so memorizing. I don't know why. But to me she just looks good. She look REAL good.

I'm sure it's probably much different watching it week by week. But doing the binge is not bad. Besides, you're missing out on some cool stuff from Season five. Example: Ivar the Boneless

I love Vikings. I don’t even miss Ragnar. I like the broader scale of the story.
Last Kingdom is great and based on my favorite books. Uhtred is poorly cast though.

Well, in the source books, the protagonist is Uthred and the story is told from his POV. So, Alfred and everyone else are kinda there for Uthred to play off of.
Plus, yeah, Alfred has aggravating characteristics. He's pretty dour and kind of goes overboard on the religious stuff. But he was ultra competent at what he had to do - unite the "English" and prevail against the Norse.

I fully well earned that downvote through my own stupidity. I thank you, kind sir, for showing me the error of my ways. May I never stray so far from the path again.
So I do have to say that I'm not a huge fan of season 5 so far. I'm not sure if it's the absence of Ragnor, Floki, Athelstan and others, or if it's just that the story isn't quite as compelling to me. I don't know. 'Cause Alex Høgh Andersen is fantastic and entertaining as Ivar, and Jonathon Rhys Meyers is doing a fantastic job in his role. I do not dislike it by any means. But I'd have to say this is probably the least interesting of the seasons to me.

Same. The first couple seasons were really great. It fell off a cliff for me later though. First couple were as good as anything on tv though. The Last Kingdom is better overall so far.
