Pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Didn't go in expecting some amazing experience but walked away more than satisfied.
Anyone else seen it?

I thought it was pretty good. My inner Pokemon nerd was going nuts. The Mr. Mime scene was one of the best parts. And even with all the Pokemon they showed, they only showed a fraction of them. Which leaves the door open to show new Pokemon in sequels.

Although it really made me hungry for a live action Pokemon movie where the focus is on catching, training and battling. The one battle scene we did get between the Blastoise and Gengar was awesome. And seeing moves manifested like Greninja's Water Shurkien.

Glad Mewtwo wasn't the villian in the end.

They can really open up a whole universe here. Would love to seem them approach the supposed Pokemon war that would be interesting for sure.

SPOILERS

Seeing that battles are illegal in Rhyme City I would love to see a movie based around illegal underground pokemon wars.

Also Mewtwo escaped from Kanto 20 years ago meaning the anime is cannon here

I liked it ok, but I had crazy high expectations. I would have liked to see more pokemon battling, and i thought the plot was a little too predictable, but still a very faithful and enjoyable live action adaptation.

Ah yes. The typical insecure "macho man" coming in to talk about how childish a movie they don't like is

It was really good. Wish they stuck with the original 151 Pokémon though. Some of them, i had no idea who are what they were. Maybe that pink dog one because he was in the first movie short, but that’s about it.

Nothing macho about admitting to taking a nap during a movie. It happened.

I'm just glad you enjoyed your nap enough to let everyone know on Tiger Droppings. Its what the Movie/TV board is all about, keeping track of the sleep habits of posters.
