It was on tbs tonight. Watching the ending sure made me wish we had gotten a 4th Nolan film. I know TDKR gets hate here but I enjoyed it for all its plot holes.

I was just thinking the same thing. Especially when you consider the shitshow that has ensued with Batman after the fact.

It's by far the weakest of the three and gets more hate than it deserves.

There are a lot of things it does wrong, but at the same time it does a lot of great things. I loved the Bruce Wayne hermit thing they did at the beginning.

Heath Ledger's death probably changed the course of where they were headed. I would love to have seen him as the Joker again.

The Dark Knight Rises is better than and all of the DCEU films, single or combined.

I would take a film of TDKR quality over any of them today. You don't know what you have until it's gone.

TDKR was a good ending to the trilogy that was appropriate and necessary.

I Moreso was referring to a nightwing or “robin” movie in the same styling

I agree, it gets more hate than it deserves simply because it wasn’t as good as Batman Begins or the Dark Knight. That’s a tall order for any comic film. It’s still a Nolan Batman film and better than any of the DCEU ones so far. I still love the trilogy as a whole

The biggest gripe I always had with it, above all else, was how quickly they got rid of Bane. Obviously not in terms of length of time he spent in the movie, but how easily he was defeated in the end. Not that there were not other flaws, but I hate how his plot line was so quickly resolved after such a large build up of how badass his character was.

I agree.

I was expecting an epic Batman fight worthy of the guy who is capable of snapping the Batman's back.

I think it can easily be argued that Ras put up a better fight in Begins on the train than the fight we got on the steps with Bane.

I don't know how Batman goes from getting his arse kicked...to does push ups...to basically wipes the floor with Bane.

Bane actually seems like a good dude that got manipulated by a woman.

kind of hard to take Bane seriously once we find out Bruce porked his girl earlier in the movie

I enjoyed TDKR. I thought showing Bruce as a hermit, getting back in the game but getting broken, and gaining the mental and physical strength to escape the Pit were actually the better things in this movie. It was very similar to the emotional power Nolan exterted in BB when Ras is training Bruce and Bruce is confronting the pain of his parents’ death.

The intro to TDKR is great too. I just did a rewatch recently and that scene is awesome. I remember seeing it in IMAX for a preview to the film and also to show off the IMAX filming.

Honestly, don’t know another character that was quoted by my friends/me for the next year like Hardy’s Bane was. There was a response for so many social situations, especially out drinking. “Admirable.. but mistaken. It doesn’t matter who we are.. Oo, you think darkness is your ally.” Just great

from morons.

I didn't see fricking Looper get the same fine tooth comb nit-picking circle jerk.

But it's not like undeserved love of Looper led to anything bad, right?

It's a very enjoyable comic book film. I'm a big fan of Hardys Bane.

Yeah, the nitpicking can be freaking hilarious. It's just as flawed as any other comic book film.

what an odd comparison

TDKR is aight, not horrible but nothing special, no where near as good as TDK or the GOAT comic book movie BB

if you compare it to most comic trilogies it wipes the floor with them

Forever
IM3
Spider-Man 3
Last Stand
Apocalypse
Superman 3
Blade Trinity

The only one that comes to mind is Civil War and I am kind of split on which I prefer. I can see myself leaning either way on it.

Civil War had the more rewarding fight scenes but TDKR had the better setup and story.

The only reason people nitpick on it is because Nolan set the bar for himself too high by making the 2 best comic movies of all time before hand.

For you, how would you compare it to other comic book movies?
