Is Johnny Rose the best sitcom dad of the 21st century?

Only to be followed by Roland Schitt?

Ok I'll be the first to do it. I don't understand how people find this show remotely funny. And let the downvotes rain down

I agree it is over hyped but it is a good, character driven show. David's love of his life dragged it down but I guess it all had to have a happy ending

I agree. My family watched nothing but this show over christmas break and it was just bland as hell.

Shows overrated as hell. The gay son is too over the top

Its very overrated. I think part of that is the fact that it came out during the quarantine with a bunch of episodes. The daughter was twice as funny as the annoying gay son.

Schitts Creek, Corner Gas, all of them. Canadian comedies have their own sense of humor. You either like it or you don’t.

This is your takeaway?

If anything Catherine O'Hara's character is the most over the top. But that's really the humor of the show with the underlying comedy.

Humor is so subjective. I never understood why anyone thought The Office was the least bit funny. But I loved Schitt's Creek. The first episode I thought it was dumb and didn't continue watching, but later went back to it and stuck with it. I thought the characters, while over the top, really grew and changed over time while keeping their unique qualities at the same time. I enjoyed it a lot!

I work in an office. The show's alright, but I think it's extremely overrated.

I enjoyed the first couple of seasons until they felt compelled to gay it up.

God your response was perfect. He's actually just bothered that David's character is gay, because Moira is about a thousand times more over the top and unrealistic.

I said this in another post about this show but I will repeat it. Throw out all the show plots except for them losing everything & going from living in a mansion in NY to living in a motel. What makes the show good is the banter between the four family members.

Agreed. You should look up who Moria's character is based off of. Funnily enough, it actually is based off of a real person.
