Wow! watching this and seeing what a sadistic person. Great documentary if you are into this sort of thing.
Lots of never before seen footage and audio from his crimes.

Solid doc. I forgot what a horrifying fiend this guy was. What was his total count? Seems like it was 29+ a few more suspected. Which is insane

They say at least 33 but the crazy thing was many of them worked for him. Amazing that he got away with it for that long.

I don’t know if I can handle it. I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts. The one that disturbed me the most was about him.

Sent me down the rabbit hole again, looking specifically for one similar about Dahmer now.
Thought this one did a good job of framing why he was the way he was (abuse from his father, self loathing and constant need to be acknowledged by those higher up than him) without excusing him as just mentally ill. Dude was a monster-created but a self-aware and unrepentant monster to the very end, nonetheless.
Also appreciated that it included the cops, prosecution, AND defense, all of whom had a role they had to play in the legal and investigatory process but who were victims of sorts themselves; they had no choice but to do their jobs, hard as they were.
Crazy to think that the only reason Gacy got caught was because he basically just got bored and sloppy. He killed so many and for so long that it began to lose its luster for him and he stopped caring how brazen he was.

Good documentary. Read or watch the movie Dear Mr. Gacy. Really creepy guy

I think the one that got to me the most was BTK. The guy killed for the sake of killing and didn't have any specific target other than human beings.
He killed young women, old women, men and children. Hell, his first killing spree was 4 people, a man, his wife and their 2 young children.
Then to hear him in court recounting how he stalked and eventually killed his victims in such a monotone demeanor like he was explaining how to paint a porch was just creepy. Not an ounce of empathy, no remorse----just cold, basic facts as he saw them.

If you can find the 1992 mini series To Catch a Killer with Brian Dennehy as John Wayne Gacy it was a great watch.

If you get a chance listen to “The Clown and the Candyman” podcast. It’s well worth the listen. There are many similarities between those two killers it really makes you wonder. The narrator discusses how those two serial killers, who together amassed 50+ murders, could have been linked to a larger pedophile ring.

Dean Corll (Candyman) freaked me out the most. Because 1) he was in Houston in the Heights which is too close to home and 2) some of the details are so graphic.
One of his gruesome torture was to insert glass tubes into boys penises and then smash them.
Thank God he was eventually killed by an accomplice.

Yes I say toolbox killers are easily the worst, if you have ever read their audio transcript you know what I am talking about.

Started watching this a few nights ago. Really good but I can only take so much at a time. Pretty dark.

Haven't watched yet, but how tf do you ever allow anyone that isn't a police officer to put handcuffs on you "to see if you can escape" for "fun." I guess outside of consenting adults in the bedroom. Gacy was a monster.
