my friend called me a moron for believing this. I still stand by it. sexual frustration and crimes like this go hand in hand.
This region has been a hotbed of violence before islam came around.

What part of the world wasn't a hotbed of violence 2000 years ago?

Concur. I don’t get the hate.
I am enjoying the show for what it is. The attack on the black op base was rather genius. Using the body to hide the weapon was “Hurt Locker” type stuff, but the hadji’s are known for using dead carcasses/bodies for all sorts of evil.
I think Jack is perfect in his role. Yeah, he was a jarhead, so he has some training, but he’s still an analyst who is slowly going to add to his skillset.
Don’t get the Greer being a Muslim thing, but maybe its relevant later down the road. Makes more sense to change his character a bit since his , in the books, was more Cold War oriented and the new show is modern day. New rules, new bad guys, etc.
I’m looking forward to a S2 and where the show takes us.
Besides, it still Clancy-ish and that alone beats 95% of the crap they air these days.

watch season one this weekend. Really liked it. Way too much over-analysis in this thread. Yes, there are plot holes, yes the drone pilot was filler. Who cares, fun show.
Also, i read that season 2 is/was filming in south america.

I liked it and I've read all the original Clancy books.
Thankfully even "fun" intelligence yarns like this are far better than they used to be in terms of getting the essentials at least partially correct. In my opinion, especially for a show like this, just getting the basics right is all you can ask. Seems like pretty much every movie or TV show dealing with the IC/sof/whatever has someone from said community consulting now, and it makes it less frustrating for their core audience, IMO.

Finish season 1 of Jack Ryan.
Very good show, worth watching.
Great build up to the end of the season.

Okay. Binged it. Liked it despite some significant departures from the canon.
Biggest gripe? Cathy Ryan is not fat.

Her casting was so odd to me.
Kind of thick, mediocre looking, looks kind of old. It didn’t ruin the show me or anything, but it was definitely odd.

man some of yall have a hard time seperating the books from tv shows. many do did it with bosch and do it with this show. just enjoy it for what it is, both are fantastic shows in their own right.

quote:My comment has nothing to do with any book since I have never read them. Greer from The Hunt For Red October was a completely different dude. Only thing they had in common was race.

Greer is a Navy Admiral in the books. I have no clue what he is supposed to be in the show but the change is unnecessary. Amazon fricked up John Clark too. Jack and Cathy Ryan seem close but she’s an eye doctor not an infectious disease doctor. The changes are arbitrary and pointless. Tom Clancy wrote great books, no need to distort his vision.

Jack Ryan Season 2 sucked. Have enjoyed all of Bosch, some more than others.

While I agree it's not that big of a deal in the grand scheme
