Is the first fight in TDKR one of the best scenes in a movie?

you have two heavyweights finally meeting each other while catwoman and bane's thugs watch. add to that, the pure shock of catwoman realizing batman is Bruce Wayne, and bane's thugs realizing batman and bane are essentially brothers from the LOS.
it's a battle between the "chosen one" of the LOS who betrayed them VS the cast away who has returned to carry out the legend of the LOS.
the way bane manipulates batman and discredits his advantages is sinister. batman uses the snapflashes and bane stands still. then he kills the lights, and bane turns it into an extreme advantage all while telling batman how he has failed gotham and failed in this fight.
the kicker in this is twofold. as a "final blow," bane reveals they're under the armory, hoping that finally breaks batman's will. just as this happens, Bruce gets up to fight, showing he still has will. bane then basically says he knows the answer to what he was wondering was that batman's body would break before his spirit would, then proves it by "breaking" his body
say what you will about this film, but I think this fight scene was the perfect representation of bane vs batman. you had sheer, brutal force, all while having bane display his extremely high intellect and ability to defeat opponents physically and psychologically. that's why after breaking him, he brought Bruce to the prison so he could break him mentally before killing him.

Considering Bruce is nearly beaten to death, I would say no.
While it is probably the best part of the film. Every time Bruce musters up enough strength to fight, it is quickly shot down, and all his attempts are taunted and even ridiculed by Bane. I can't even call it a fight.

One of the most intense beatings I've seen. All without the blood and other visuals to enhance it. I remember watching in silence and letting out a "frick" afterwards

I don't know but it is incredible

It's a great scene, probably the best in the movie.

It's certainly a very well filmed scene and one of my favorites, but I don't know about best

that's why I was hesitant to say best fight scene as opposed to scene. I'm going to edit back to my original question

There are two things I can never get out of my head when I see it.
outtakes
The combo breaker line and the fatality line are always in my head when that fight scene is going on.
The other is collegehumor's badman. The guy nails it and just shits on it the whole movie.

that's more of what I was getting at. not so much the fight, but how perfectly they made a scene showing bane break the batman

oh my god that's the funniest thing I've seen in a long time

It's a good scene, but not remotely in the discussion of best ever.
The list for me starts with the single-take achievement that is Oldboy's 25 v 1:
LINK
Add in Enter the Dragon (probably the best, to be honest, but Oldboy blew me away so much that I still put it first), The Protector, Princess Bride (yep, Inigo v Wesley > Bane v Batman, I said it), and Kill Bill Vol 1 (Crazy 88's).

I just remember watching with my hand over my mouth in complete awe.

every time I see it, I still get that feeling. it's just an epic portrayal of what I've only gotten to see through drawings before
