I'm finally ditching Directv
Posted by JDPndahizzy

After 30+ years I've decided to go full streaming. I finally have access to ~1gbps fiber.
What's the best streaming setup? I have Amazon and Netflix already.
Any advice is appreciated.

YouTube TV...unless you need Bally to watch MLB, then you're still stuck with DirecTV.

I can do without MLB as long as I have CFB and NFL

I went with the Hulu live Bundle which gets me Disney plus (which I don't care about), all of the ESPN and ESPN+ channel, my local channels and most of the various cable channels I've been watching.
After college Football is over I'll re-evaluate

Once baseball season is over, I am going to make the switch to YoutubeTV. Although if they keep jacking up the prices it will eventually no longer matter.

We ditched it for Youtube TV mainly for NFL Ticket reasons. We didn't really lose anything we didn't watch anyway.

I am using SlingTV since it grants me access to RedZone and nearly all CFB games. After the season ends then I will cut back to normal streaming apps.

I stream DirectV through ATT internet. Pretty cheap. Can’t really find a better deal and still get all the sports channels needed including all Astros and Rockets games.
Also travel quite a bit and still get the local news as well.

No. Bally is streamed through the MLB TV app. The app is available across all streaming platforms.
I watch all of the Braves games on Bally, on the MLB app.

If it wasn't for sports, you could get all your cable content via streaming apps for fairly cheap if you're willing to get the cheapest plans.
Max $9.99 - Warner Bros, HBO, Discovery, Food Network, HGTV...
Peacock $5.99 - Universal Pictures, NBC, USA, Bravo...
Paramount+ $5.99 - Paramount Pictures, CBS, Nickelodeon, Smithsonian
Hulu/Disney+ $9.99 - Disney, ABC, Fox, FX...
That's most of cable for $32 a month. Plus original content and new movies and some pretty large libraries.
For non-sports fans cable is a waste of money.
Obviously most people here are probably sports fans. Although sometimes I'd like to quit to be honest.
