Yes, just about all the women told the cops he had a small penis.

I wonder why these women/couples didn't barricade themselves in their bedrooms back then knowing a rapist was on the loose? That would have be a deterrent. He would have made a lot of noise forcing himself into a bedroom.

Not sure how much detail the news gave back then.

They mentioned that the local realtors worked out with law enforcement the withholding of those details to keep the value of real estate.

I seem to recall that there was emphasis placed on not mentioning the rape aspect of his crimes.

That shite freaked me the frick out and Im a grown arse man wth a gun and a dog.

I really didnt get into the first two episodes that much. I kept losing the moment every time they started talking about the author or Patton Oswald, and yes I know the story is hers and its also about her death and all.

This episode did it for me. Actually got down into detective work and all. Im fully in 100% now.

I usually don't give a shite about millennials telling me about the history that I lived through, but it's interesting to hear their shocked responses to how rape was viewed in the 70's, and how open and accessible homes and neighborhoods were.

It is still like that in some places and was like that growing up during the 90s. Like i didnt know a single person that lived in a neighborhood that wasnt easily accessible.

This guy stalked his targets and sometimes went before hand to unlock doors and windows when people werent around.

Hulu has a Golden State Killer series that was obviously produced shortly BEFORE they caught the killer.

Interesting to see where they were then. They thought that the killer was in real estate or residential development/construction. They were way off base on most things and were dismissing the artist sketches (though a couple were on-point).

They were looking into the familial DNA angle, but at that point were just waiting for one of the killer's siblings or children to commit a felony and to enter the DNA database.

Towards the end he was trying to almost get caught, so that he had the excitement of getting away successfully.

Sort of like BTK calling the police from the crime scene and hauling arse out of there.

You can say it wasn't suicide, but she was aware of her severe stress and depression and that those drug cocktails were insanely dangerous.

Episode 3, but the recording has always been available online - LINK

This past episode was really good. I have to commend just how accurate Michelle was in her speculation about the kind of guy the GSK is and what his motives were. I'm not sure if she ever would've "solved" the case had it not been for 23 & Me, but her profile of the dude just by going off his M.O. was pretty dead-on.

I love how they keep pointing out that the dude had a small dick, pudgy feet, a girly voice, and would cry like a little bitch during the crimes.

I'm wondering how much of that is their focusing on the aspects where she was correct, and not her musings that turned out to be off.

Like I said, the Hulu series was done between McNamara's death and the capture (they mention her death). So they're putting out all kinds of M.O.s that turned out to be false. The HBO series has the benefit of hindsight.

Good point. I will check the Hulu series out.

I really liked the DA’s investigator. He provided a lot of insight into the crimes and his theories.

Unfortunately, he chased evidence that fit his real estate theory, and dismissed other evidence such as linking GSK to the Visalia Ransacker.

Sad how she spiraled. Patton couldve seen it coming with some of his own issues form his last but that’s easy for me to say.. She was flirting with disaster with the combo outside the Fentanyl.. I know the show is designed to highlight her but she seemed very gifted in investigative journalism. She had a very specific drive which I admire and it sucks that the case drove her to an untimely death.

I have watched the first 4 episodes and I am very disappointed. McNamara just isnt that interesting and she is the focus of the doc instead of JDD. In comparison would anyone watch a doc on BTK where most of the storykine would be of his daughter' journey as she wrote the book? If you do a doc on JDD or BTK focus on their story on not the story of who wroye it.

Not only that, but her writing is 7th grade girl horrendous and if not for her C list husband I doubt she ever would have been published. There are much better docuseries out there that focus entirely on JDD.
