the premise of the movie is ok. id maybe give it a watch.
im not going to see it because:
1. i dont like rom coms to begin with
2. I like Eichner enough in small doses. any more than that he gets irritating. he cant carry a whole movie.

Called it.

That's just it, whether you see it that way or not isn't what matters.
To the LGTBQANUS crowd and their "allies", celebration equals acceptance. Thus, anything less than celebrating them is not accepting them (see also: you can't simply be non-racist now, you have to be stridently anti-racist in order to not be considered a racist). This crowd is very binary (irony) in that if you aren't accepting them then you must be phobic (no middle ground).
This movie was to be a celebration of the normalization of "love is love" through the vehicle of a male homosexual comedy. It bombed, which means it isn't being celebrated by the vast majority of movie-goers. If there's no widespread celebration, then that means no acceptance which means the entire community is suffering the brutal injustice of the majority of the population being phobic against them.
By not going to see it you've proven that you're likely at any moment to go out and beat up someone just for being gay.
That's just the way they think, you'll see this proven by how they frame the movie's failure as being the fault of people not going to see it.
Ray Charles could see this coming.

This movie is enjoying the hell out of the free advertising on TigerDroppings.
You think so? You think people are unaware of this movie that advertised heavily during football games, are reading threads making fun of it on here and then are rushing out to watch it? That's what you think?

Just gonna break it down for the Liberal idiots: Most normal, decent people find the thought of two men having butt sex to be disgusting.
There it is, it's that simple.
Fact is, in 2022 the Gay Community have decided that instead of being INDIVIDUALS, they will be defined by what they do with their genitals.
Ok, have it your way.
Now STFU and stop blaming the folks that built Western Civilization for your numerous failings.

Homosexual lifestyle isn't my interest. I also think it's abhorrent behavior. I'm not going to pay to watch something that disgusts me.

Well that is quite a hot take I was NOT ready for

I’m not going to go see a movie I don’t want to see, no matter how many names I get called.

This is what happens when you produce a mainstream product tailored to only about 5% of the population.

it's my fault? OK then, you're welcome!

This is Cinema's version of the WNBA .
The WNBA would be wildly successful if Women would actually support it.
Well, since the Culture has decided that at least a quarter of people in the country are gay, trans or bi, this movie would have Titanic numbers if those people would support their own.

Most straight dudes don't want to see ROM-COMs about straight people but they're supposed to come out for gay ones?

Eichner recounted his experience seeing the film with a full theater – “the audience howled with laughter start to finish, burst into applause at the end, and some were wiping away tears as they walked out” – saying it was “truly magical” and reiterating he was “VERY proud of this movie.”
This TOTALLY happened. Like for real.

I’m gay. I watch niche movies like this, but this one just looked like all of the others I’ve seen before. It offers nothing new in that genre even. I might watch it for free when it streams, but I’m not paying to go see it.
I've seen plenty of gay movies and there are plenty of decent ones out there. And it's always easy to tell if a movie is for gay consumers or if it's for the women. This is clearly a movie for fig-hags

I’m just wondering if any bros wanna meet up to catch an afternoon screening in a dark mostly empty theatre?
Anyone?
Bluestem75?

Sorry. I have plans to get shitfaced drunk and post on the SEC Rant tonight

Didn't he also say that he didn't want anyone who voted for Trump to watch it? I mean, yeah, tell 80 million people to not see your movie and complain when they don't.

I saw "Priscilla Queen of the Desert" when it came out.
I was the only straight guy in the theater.
Didn't hate it because it was a "gay movie" I enjoyed the Hell out of it because it came out in a time where people weren't overly preachy and it was a genuinely fun, charming movie....."Abba turd"......
In 2022, when I hear the word "gay", I tune out because I don't want to hear what the fk comes after because in 99% of cases, it's preachy, virtue-signaling, anti-Christian,anti-Conservative, anti-straight bullshite.
