Just a thrilling ride from beginning to end. I hope it inspires more whodunit movies to get made in the near future.

I'll wait until I can steal it from my torrent app. Rian Johnson gets none of my money.

So all the critics are praising it for being some thinly veiled antiTrump movie. Did you pick up on that at all or are they projecting?

I don’t plan on seeing this in theaters, but Rian Johnson is not a bad filmmaker, I’ve enjoyed quite a few things he’s done.

Just keep him the frick away from Star Wars.

My wife really wants to see this so we might go tomorrow. Looks like Clue 2.0

Is Daniel Craigs accent supposed to be a southern drawl? I cant tell, bc if it is, it sounds horrible.

I'm sure a lot of people on this board will think that. They crack some jokes about right wing people, but they also have people make fun of the Uber liberal family members.

It's honestly just more shots at rich/out of touch elite than anything. I guess sort of like Get Out in that regard where it could be talking about conservatives or liberals.

It was my biggest complaint with the movie. It sounded like the Murder In Savannah ep of the office.

The Director said it was explicitly an hate letter to trump supporters or something. Thats where that comes from.

KNIVES OUT is a fun ‘frick you’ to rich white Trump voters, wrapped in a crafty Agatha Christie package. VERY pro immigration. And none of this is subtle. Enjoy it in a crowd.

KNIVES OUT is a total blast and a total take down of privilege, gringos, and perceptions through a genre that's very missed.

KNIVES OUT is a diabolical, hilarious, and massively entertaining whodunnit that updates the musty genre for the modern world and all of its MAGA assholes.

quote:

KNIVES OUT: Rian Johnson’s all-star comedic mystery is a sheer delight, giving all in its cast moments of divine silliness while slipping in a commentary on the grossness of inherited wealth and white anti-immigrant racism. Runs 15 minutes too long but worth the ride

quote:

KNIVES OUT is a total delight from start to finish. It’s also a scathing indictment of American greed in the Trump era. I’ll have more on that when the movie opens in November

SAD!

So, can I go see it, because it looks fun, and not get taken in by all the "Ha, we hate Trump crap" and just enjoy it because it looks like a good movie, or should I get triggered and avoid it because "ohmygoshsomepeoplesaytheyaretrashingTrump"?

Whoa .... yeah, well frick that movie and director and DC, with his fake southern accent, up their ponderosas.

The movie obviously has no redeeming qualities according to those reviews.

No thanks. Don't want to be in a small movie theater w/ people who love the smell of their own farts.

I can typically put political differences aside when it comes to media, but reviews like that will make me 100% not see this movie even though I had interest in it.

If it was the other way around I wouldn’t see it either. I have no desire to see any film that criticizes political thought, on either side, in a serious manner. Comedy is one thing, everyone should be able to laugh at themself, but at some point it’s too much and those reviews tell me all I need to know.
