I'm not shocked these people are over the top about the ST ans think the OT sucks. That's exactly the type of person I'd expect to like the ST. Basically people who arent reslly star wars fans, just pop culture enthusiasts.

I have never...ever...seen such hardened cynicism before in my life as I have just witnessed in this thread on this board. We are much better than this as an online society. This is deeply hurtful.

I give my word as a Christian that everything I stated in the op is true...with one exception. He never said A New Hope wasn’t very good. He did not offer an opinion regarding its quality, only that he had seen the movie in Film Studies class. I offered that last little bit for extra spiciness. Everything else is true.
