I'm not bothered by what OP is bothered by, but this doesn't make sense.

Being black or being a woman are real things and very few people have any discomfort with those immutable characteristics. Gender identity issues are not in the same category and the average American does not give a shite about preferred pronouns or respect one's self-selected gender.

re: I love Billions, and I actually like the Taylor Mason character
SPOILER

The lead up to the finale is a far bigger weakness than the pronoun issue. There was zero foundation laid for the sting, particularly a Federal sting. I assume most saw what was happening with Kate, but Chuck getting her on board was really, really weak felt GOT-style rushed.

Anyway, I enjoy Chuck rampaging as much as anyone and enjoyed the finale, but that is a much more legitimate bitch than being distracted by the pronoun thing, IMO.

I feel like the show constantly goes off the rails. It's fricking insane. One of the reasons I enjoy it so much. So goofy and over the top but very fun to watch.

I wouldn’t mind Maggie Siff rustling my jimmies the way she does to Chuck Rhodes Jr.

The finale was a wet fart. Chuck "getting" Connerty and Jeffcoat felt completely forced and something out of a low grade CBS/Fox/NBC show. Also - just have Axe and Wendy bang and get that over with.

How was that forced? It was the entire story line for Chuck all season. That was the point. “Getting” over on those two.

People used the word “forced” way too much.

It doesn't "rustle my jimmies" at all. IRL I don't give a shite. But it seems that using the preferred pronouns is a sign of respect. When Taylor worked for Ax, it was proper that he used the correct pronouns. I had no issue at that time.

However, his character would NEVER in my opinion use the correct pronouns after she betrayed him, because the respect was gone. And, as another posted pointed out, would have reamed out any of his people who did use the preferred pronouns.

And, for those bitching, this is not a political post. This is a legit criticism of what I see as poor writing and a veer from what the character would normally say.

The means to the end was forced

If you think that was clever or well written, I feel sorry for you.

re: I love Billions, and I actually like the Taylor Mason character
Not sure what NIH will say but to me it was forced in the sense it wasn't developed well. I appreciate what they tried to do - make a surprise bombshell finale and then show you how it came to be - but it fell short IMO. It was basically a season of "I want to get Connerty and Jeffcoat!!!" with a final episode that spent 4 minutes describing how they were "got" and didn't really connect dots very well IMO.

Fun show but this season was definitely the weakest

He still respects Taylor as a worthy adversary, hence the end result of the season. Also, even if they are his enemy it doesn't mean he's going to go all Donald Trump on them. What you're suggesting is like complaining that he doesn't call the character the n word if they were black or mocking their disabled child.

If you're that hard to hear someone rage about transgendered people go strike up a conversation at your local wal-mart.

Not calling someone what they prefer out of respect is not the same thing as using racist language or mocking a disabled child.

The fact that you would equate the two is sad.
