The character wasn’t funny and kind of took the focus off of Michael’s final episodes. A weak spot in some otherwise great episodes.

Deangelo through Robert California was the low point of the show.

I’ve grown to enjoy Spader as California.

Can’t say the same for Vickers. And I’m a pretty big Will Ferrell fan.

Vickers just wasn’t that likeable.

I loved Robert California. He was very interesting.

I also enjoyed Gabe. Wish he could have joined the show earlier in the series. When Gabe came back for that one episode in the final season was a nice touch and made me miss his character.

It took the writers awhile to find Zach Woods wheelhouse. He killed it once he completely became a creepy weirdo.

Silicon Valley knew how to use him from the get go.

they really fricked up that Will Ferrell stretch of episodes. the only part i really thought was funny was when he called out jim and pam for talking up their daughter nonstop

The problem with California is he never lived up to the awesome interview.

We all had high expectations and the writing didn't live up to they hype.

Spader was great. He can act the heck out of characters like California but the writing just wasn't great. I still like him much more than Nellie and hell, I forgot Vickers so he must have sucked cause I like Ferrell. All I remember is he was injured on a dunk.

On this day of fantasy you chose to dress as....a laborer.

Legit loved that RC line

DeAngelo Vickers was a terrible character.

Michael hysterically laughing after giving Oscar that shitty doll and his parting wisdom to Gabe were fantastic

No. The last season is the Mariana trench.

Gabe was great, California was solid, Vickers and Nellie sucked as did Andy’s character in the last few seasons

I liked Robert California and thought he was one of the better parts of the show after Michael. His weirdness was entertaining.

Don't like how they brought Ferrell in. Michael should've been the main focus, and then once he was gone, bring someone new in.

I do give Ferrell credit for doing it though. He was trying to fill in for possibly the funniest character in TV history on an extremely popular show. That's a tall task.

I’m doing a Netflix rewatch right now and I’m late in season 5, about to get to the Idris Elba episides. I’m dreading getting to season 9. Generally everything else is fine although I wasn’t the biggest fan of seasons 1-2 and early season 3. But season 9 is awful.

The entire misplaced sound guy/Jim & Pam marital troubles storyline drags season 9 to hell.
