Info about the Animated Shows:
quote:

The agreement will see Marvel TV produce four adult animated series — “Howard the Duck,” “M.O.D.O.K..” “Hit-Monkey” and “Tigra & Dazzler” — that will culminate in a crossover special, “The Offenders.” The four series are being written and executive produced by the likes of Patton Oswalt, Kevin Smith, Chelsea Handler, and the “Blades of Glory” directing team of Josh Gordon and Will Speck.

But here's the vague yet positive statement that suggests we may not have seen the last of The Defenders that Netflix cancelled.
quote:

Craig Erwich, the streamer’s senior vice president of originals, told TheWrap that Hulu remains open for business with Marvel, and that includes any title under the comic book powerhouse. “Marvel has a ton of titles we’d be interested in,” he said, when asked by TheWrap if Hulu would have interest in reviving one of those series.

“It kind of just depends on when they’re ready, [and] who, most importantly, is going to be behind these things.”

...“We’ve had a relationship with Marvel since ‘Runaways,’ we’re getting into business on these animated shows,” he continued. “I’m sure it will lead to — you know, business gets you business — we have a good creative relationship with them. That’s where opportunities tend to arise.”

Sooooo Modern Day Marvel then?

To be fair, that’s hands down the worst wheelhouse of shows I’ve ever seen.

Worst ideas for Marvel Shows ever?
TBH, I might give Kevin Smith's Howard the Duck a shot.

I'm sure contracts and legalities would hold up a quick changeover of the Netflix shows to Disney Plus, but Disney is pretty good at doing what it has to in order to acquire character rights.
Wouldnt be surprised to see DD, Punisher, Jessica Jones, and Heroes for Hire back with all or most of original casts on the new service.
If the deals aren't done, they can't yet announce publicly. Also have to wait for Jessica Jones to finish on Netflix so they can announce its cancellation.

As for Dazzler and Tigra or MODOK? WTF. No thanks.

Hulu's adult animation like Bob's Burgers and Rick and Morty apparently do really well so they were looking for more.

Netflix has a 2 year hold on the shows and characters after they get cancelled. The clock hasn't started on Punisher and Jessica Jones yet, but it has on the other shows.

Luke Cage and Iron Fist were cancelled in October 2018 so they should be free to move to another network in November 2020. I would imagine that wouldn't stop production so if they want to bring them back or do spinoffs like Heroes for Hire or Daughters of the Dragon, they can probably start shooting next spring.
