Deadline

Hopefully they make the episodes longer to compensate. HBO needed this show to do well so that there can be future GOT series. Season one was fantastic and pretty loyal to the source material

Haven’t we learned our lesson? The first 3 episodes are gonna be 47 minutes long and they’ll have one 1 hour 21 minute penultimate episode.

This move wasn't based upon the amount of time jumps in Season One?

I imagine this gets the season up more quickly.

Season 4 to close it out somewhere around 2035, if human society still exists then.

3-4 sounds about right. Unlike GOT, this entire story is already complete, and the events in it couldn't take up more seasons than 3-4 unless they injected huge amounts of filler.

I never noticed the second to last episodes being longer than the others.

Depends how far they go. They can get into Cregan Stark and Aegon III but that stuff is less compelling than the civil war.

If it goes 2 years between seasons then I’m already not interested. Whatever dipshit that started that trend should have their teeth kicked in.

Have to think that explains the 8 episode seasons. Get it out there quicker.

Now we can't even get ten episode seasons anymore?

Seems like every show across all streaming services is simultaneously making fewer episodes per season, while also taking astronomical breaks between seasons.

based on the source material was thinking their would only be one maybe two more seasons.

I think the average run time for Season 1 was just over 1 hour.

Oddly enough, I said that at the end of every episode in S1.

I'd always say to myself at the end of each episode "things will start popping off now." I hope the second season will be better than the first.

Had I not already seen and loved GOT, I would've abandoned S1 half way through.

I enjoyed season one a lot. I do agree that more action is needed for casual fans

If human society has ended then use the lessons learned from these shows wisely.

Covid started it and now I guess everyone thinks it's the norm.

I watched the first few episodes then lost interest once they switched the actress. What would they do that? So dumb.
