People will complain about Pinhead being a female. I suggest they read the novel Hellraiser is based on, The Hellbound Heart.

It's not so much really the character being a female or this being a bit closer to cannon. It's the fact that Doug Bradley absolutely owned that role, and Hollywood has a tendency to be "inclusive" these days for no other reason than to not piss off the SJWs.
It's actually grown on me some after watching the trailer a few more times.

Don’t care about trans pinhead. The character is supposed to be perverse and unnatural, and was a mix of both genders in the book.
My problem is that Pinhead and the centobites were NEVER the best part of the original movie. Uncle Frank and that twisted love triangle is the heart of that original movie, and what clearly makes it the best Hellraiser movie. The centobites are just cool side characters to enforce the judgment of the box.

I’ve never seen the original - I did get curious a couple of months and read the plot on Wikipedia. Holy shite what a weird movie.

The sequel was even better. But after the first two movies they made Pinhead into a generic villain.

Just watched it - not that bad. The only thing I disagreed with was removing the whole "desire" premise of opening the box. Now you can open it and avoid your punishment just by cutting someone else with the box.

Yeah, that was my biggest issue. That and once again making the cenobites almost generic slasher villains.

Just watched it…nowhere near as dark, creepy and weird as the first one. Story was kind of meh and if you didn’t know the originals you’d probably have no idea what was going on.
