HBO airing Sopranos marathon

HBO is also free for anyone with DirecTV all weekend. They're on season 1 right now.
Sonnovabitch this show still blows me away. Also convinced now it's a black comedy instead of a pure drama upon re-watch. Laughed my arse off at "The Legend of Tennessee Maltisanti."
And I don't know how, but the directing and cinematography is better than most feature films released now. And I'm not even going to get into how far superior the acting and writing is. Truly the best show of all time.

I've been rewatching with the SO who's never seen it. I hadn't watched it again since it's initial on TV. It's been amazing.

On my first rewatch as well. I'm convinced it is truly one of those shows that is better on your second watch. You have a much better feel for the tone and etc

I saw that too. I’m trying really hard to rewatch the whole thing before the movie comes out. I might have to wait a week or so after, I’m still on S1 E10

I’m watching through it for the first time casually during the work day when I have time. In the middle of season 2.

Janice Soprano is in the running for worst character of all time on any show ever. Is she the worst character I’m going to see?
Nothing agains the actress. I just have a sister that is a mooch with no discernible skill or talent and is always working an angle to not pay anything and get stuff for free so it really strikes a chord.

The worst? Probably not. But Janice is a grifter with no redeeming virtues that I can think of.

It's a combination workplace/family situational dramedy or a black comedy. It definitely isn't a straight drama.

I've been REALLY close to starting it lately, just haven't pulled the trigger quite yet (I always end up landing on something else I've been wanting to watch). In all honesty, I think my main concern is that I will be hooked and then my nights will be consumed with trying to get episodes in.

If it wasn't for me watching The Wire right now, I'd be rewatching this again. Finished it for the first time like a month ago. It's fricking perfect.
