Has no one talked about how Infinity War is basically the Phantom Menace?

Last I checked that has nothing to do with anything.

I don’t see any similarities whatsoever, except maybe for Watto being comparable to Rocket Racoon.

Good guys deploy a shield to keep bad guys out

Bad guys walk right through it to engage with overwhelming force

Good guys get overwhelmed until reinforcments arrive

Bad guys defeated by outside element

Not hard, idiot.

So IW is also Two Towers and Return of the King minus the shield? Lol

The battle in Wakanda kinda resembled the Gungun vs imperial droid battle on Naboo or where ever that was.

With that Logic, Infinity war is basically Forest Gump and Phantom menace.
Thanos snaps and Half the universe disappears.
Half of Leuitenant Dan disappears in Nam,
Darth maul gets cut in half at the waist.

Kinda.

The bubble shield in TPM was only good against blasters.

Wakanda's shield was good against all and destroyed things as they pushed through and it resealed itself.

The whole step through thing there was the minions had figured out that that sacrificing themselves was taxing the system and started spreading. They were going to cause the whole shield to collapse and would be able to directly engage civilians.

They dropped the shield in front and let them funnel into their fire instead.

The whole defeated the same way doesn't work either.

Pilots were actively going for the coup de Grace on the Droid army control ship.

Thor showing up was Deus ex machina taken to the logical extreme with a god coming from nowhere from the earthbound avengers perspective and killing all as only a god could.

I mean it's reasonably similar, but I think you can find a bunch of movies with shields being used during battle.

This is exclusive to those two movies?

Bad guys defeated??? They walked right through????

This is some generic shite for you to claim it’s a copy. Not even addressing how wrong it is.

Sure. How many have those personal shields, giant bubble shield surrounding the battlefield, and the giant transport ships all together? Probably pretty slim pickings.

Does it all of a sudden make infinity war not incredible? Absolutely not. That battle though is basically TPM battle set up. Is what it is.

That's absurd. Infinity war is obviously a thinly veiled homage to "How to lose a guy in 10 Days".

A personal shield isn't exclusive to these two movies and neither is a big bubble shield.

That is literally all you have. And it's a single battle.

But the OP is: "Infinity War is basically the Phantom Menace". That's incredibly laughable.

Well, for starters, all I'm talking about is a single battle, so glad i'm getting the point across.

Point being, they obviously copied the main set up of the battle. No need to get so worked up over it. Movies copy other movies all the time.

And he posts a video that is pertaining specifically to the one battle that I'm referencing. You have a problem with his title, take it up with him. I'm discussing the content of the post.

Can't find the image for the house shields raising but yeah Dune 1984 presentation of the holtzman shields, which you could a blade through slowly at a controlled pace or is blasted with a laser caused atomic type explosions that resulted in MAD.

IW fight has more in common with 300 than TPM though as it was about funneling troops into a killzone. You're getting distracted by visuals.

So... you're trying to equate the Gungans vs the battle droids, with the battle at Wakanda, because shields?

Don't see it. Lots of differences, actually:
IW, they don't walk right through it, most die, they get pushed through mangled. They're just mindless creatures that continue to fight, and prior to the opening of the shield, they get slaughtered.

When they open the shield, they don't get overwhelmed, a few of the good guys get swarmed- but tank the damage. A few Wakandan extras might die, but basically they are just engaged in a heavy battle.

There is no analogue for any of the heroes- in IW, all of them except Banner/Hulk Buster are decimating large amounts of enemies. Scarlet Witch engages and destroys the big weapons.

Actually, although the battle is cool, I don't see any point for it- they didn't have to open the shieldwall.

It took a huge mass of the critters to shove a couple through, so something like 1-2%. Anyone with ranged weapons take those down before they can engage (unless you rush into combat for the sake of it). They try to encircle? Fine, follow them- the shield isn't opaque. Kill those who break through.

When the giant gears are sent, Wanda defeats them. Only guys who risk running out of ammo are Falcon and Winter Soldier, and both remain viable- Falcon just stays airborne, Bucky's another melee weapon at that point.
