Bout to start
"Trou Normand" - the team hunts a killer who makes a totem pole out of his victims' corpses; jack and Alana question Abigail about nick boyle's death; when Abigail agrees to write a book with Freddy Lounds, she reveals a secret to Hannibal.

That human totem pole was crazy

I wonder if Hannibal actually cares about Will or he just wants him to quit doing that job in fear of Will catching him

i guess we have no way of knowing at this time, because we don't know if what he told dr du maurier about will was genuine, or just what he wanted her to believe...but the way he reacted when will was late for an appointment makes me think it might be genuine.

What the hell just happened with the old guy?

I think he really likes Will.

I can't think of a better network TV show than this besides Mad Men. Everyone is casted perfectly, and IMO, even better than the movies. Graham and Hannibal are much more in line with the books than their movie counterparts.

i totally agree.
a bit of trivia i posted in last week's episode thread, but long after it had died out...mads mikkelsen and hugh dancy worked together previously in "king arthur" (2004), playing tristan and galahad, respectively...i didn't remember it until last week.

Interesting. They're great together.
Mikkelson's Hannibal is more realistic to me than Hopkin's. Hopkin's was almost a caricature at one point and almost over the top creepy even when out of prison which is totally wrong. Norton played Graham like a normal tired FBI guy when the Graham in the books is a lot more fricked up in the head.

i feel the same way about both of the characters...i love anthony hopkins, but i really find the manner in which mikkelson is portraying hannibal much more interesting and enjoyable...and i love that they're focusing on will's issues dealing with his ability to get in these peoples' heads...i don't think it was emphasized enough in either movie version of "red dragon".

Love the show but thought tonight was a little weak on the story with the totem pole and the killer. But I liked the revelations with the other characters.

Love the show, but does anyone else find it odd that there are so many serial killers in one area?
Posted on 5/24/13 at 7:33 am to sloopy
Didn't think of that... it is weird. Hopefully you didn't open up a can of worms for the nitpickers of the board.

If Dexter can face all of those killers in Miami, I'm okay with this many in the Maryland/Virginia area...as long as the show is this great.

The same could be said for Miami and Dexter.

Just got around to watching this on the DVR.
Did that old guy put up the whole totem pole on his own?

It was a feat of old serial killer strength.
