2nd one was bad.

Chow is the antithesis of funny. People who think Chow is funny also think Tom Cruise was funny on Tropic Thunder.

"OMG THE LITTLE ASIAN GUY HAS A SQUEAKY VOICE AND IS A GANGSTER OMG!"

"OMG TOM CRUISE IS IN A FAT SUIT SAYING CURSE WORDS!"

I have little hope for the 3rd after the 2nd, but that might be its most redeeming quality...low expectations.

Regardless, I will wait for HBO.

The second one had me on edge as I thought the situation was life and death. It kind of took away from the funny moments.

If 3 is the same way I'll be too worried something terrible happens and someone dies although I know they won't.

I didn't think the first film was that bad... until after everyone else watched it.

It all depends on what you are looking to get out of it.

They were both entertaining. Thats really all you can expect out of this type of movie.

I don't think you have matured in your comic taste since 3rd grade.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is hilarious to me. Humor in the everyday things. Louis CK is hilarious to me. Brutally honest about life. Christopher Guest is hilarious to me. Mocking weird, but realistic people.

Over the top curse words from people who normally don't curse (OMG), fat suits, and squeaky asians are not funny to me. Shock value comedy isn't funny to me.

It will make so much money. It actually looks funny on the previews. The 2nd one wasn't that good as everyone noticed but the 3rd one has potential IMO.

I am not trying to be a snob. Sorry its coming off like that. I am just stating my opinion that I think its the antithesis of funny. I just hate over the top comedy that took zero creativity to create. Reminds me of Bob Sagget stand up. I think Zach Galifinakis is brilliant, especially in Between Two Ferns.

Being a fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Louis CK, and Christopher Guest hopefully doesn't make me a snob.

ETA:

I also love Paul Rudd's brand of comedy. Cynical, sarcastic, and intelligent.

I <3 people that call others snobs for not liking comedy that took minimal creativity.

You might get jumped by the movie/tv board crowd if you say this.

Those took WAYYY more creativity than Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder or Chow.

Some of those one liners in those flicks are fricking brilliant.

ETA:

The fact you compared some all time greatest comedies ever to annoying characters in average comedies means I am leaving this thread ASAP.

Youre not a snob for not liking that kind of comedy. Thats an opinion.

Youre a snob because you feel you are "above" that type of comedy

Wait, I never said I was a comedy genius or that liking those things makes me one. Putting words in my mouth. You might love those as well. I am trying to explain what I think is funny by giving examples so we can better understand each others' opinions.

Message board with opinions...NO frickING WAY

I don't feel like I'm above. I just hate that shite. I don't feel like I'm above people that like pickles, but I fricking hate pickles.
