What do I need to say?
Been with them about 4 years. My bill is $90. Was like $65 when I started I believe.

Yep, say you are leaving for cable. They will cut off $20 or so

Mine doesn't end until August, but I've been thinking of complaining because I can't get the Astros, etc here in Houston because they won't do a deal with Comcast Sports.

If nothing else when it comes time I'm gonna make them give me a new genie box and NFL games, although I'd prefer to have the college games

I recommended a friend to Direct TV and was able to lower my bill a little. Sometimes they run specials too.

Honestly, just tell them that you are not getting the bang for your buck that the competitors are offering. State that you appreciate their business and that you want to stick with them, but you're not going to at the current price.

This at least worked with me and Cox Cable. I called them up Friday and said what I said above and they knocked off $21.38 and put me in a "Price Lock Garauntee" for 2 years where my rate can't go up for any reason. I'm locked in for the next 2 years now but that's fine with me. They also got me HBO for free since I have Showtime already for a year. My plan is to just call again in a year and see if they have premium promotions again.

All these places have promotions and specials for the current customers that call in griping about price. They'd much rather you're $70 than not having you at all.

Ever try cancelling a credit card? Just put yourself in that same mindset, that you're going to leave, they'll throw something at you to see if it sticks.

I got my bill lowered by Comcast a few months back. I was paying around $220 for cable (pretty much every channel) and high speed internet. I told them that I was looking to downgrade or cancel the service because it was ridiculously expensive. They dripped the bill $60 and bumped up my internet speed. Took 5 minutes.

Ask for cancellation department.

Say you're done.

Mean it.

They will offer you a deal.
