Just watched it. Wasn't a horrible movie, but I was very underwhelming. What was so great about it? Why did it get such high reviews? It was a very ordinary horror/thriller. No real twists, no unexpected ending. It was basically a "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" with violence. I don't get it. Am I the only one who thinks this way?....sorry if this has already been discussed.

I really enjoyed it. Didn't find it revolutionary, but I had a good time watching it.

Why don't you both prove that you have nuts and say why?

I thought it was entertaining, but given the way people talked about it, I was expecting a bigger twist.

It's very good, but has become so overhyped that it's bordering on overrated. It's pandering by the critics at this point, and I guess I expect it to get a best picture nomination based on the love it's received.

Currently, my #4 horror movie of 2017.

exactly. That's what I thought. Not long ago, someone asked on the movie/tv board whether "IT" would get some Oscar recognition. Then someone else said "Get Out" would be the horror movie to be recognized. I don't see it

I think Get Out is a better overall movie and that IT was way too overhyped on this board, although I don't think either should get an Oscar nom

I liked it, but it's laughable that's it's considered a horror film. There was nothing scary about it.

I saw it only because this board raved about it. Wasn't very impressed but I went in with high expectations. Perhaps it would've been better if I didn't buy in to the reviews about it on here before seeing it.

I'm the exact opposite, I liked IT way more. You're right that neither will get an oscar nomination.

I saw IT with maybe too high of expectations, but I still don't think I would have loved it either way

It wasn't bad. It wasn't whatever that crazy RT score has it that. That's insane. I mean Godfather levels.

But yeah...it was like that old Def Comedy Jam joke...a comedian just had to go up there and say "white people suck!" And get a thousand applause.

That's sort of the praise for this movie. It was like lib bait for a movie reviewer (which is 90%) who thinks movies should send social messages.

It was a well done movie with an original story by a first time director whose previous experience had been sketch comedy.

I think the subject matter and the dearth of non Tyler Perry black directors gave it a big push, but it was quite enjoyable to me.

The pacing, the shots, and the script were all wayyy above average.

Many on this board liked it which is probably 90% conservative
