So Cersei pretty much shot herself in the foot re: trial by combat by revealing the Mountain's capabilities to a group of FM scrubs.
They were probably sent there to feel him out. After the report, no more T by C.
Don't really understand this. When the trial comes she should send a message from the Red Keep for the HS to come and get her if he wants her at the trial.
Have the mountain stand at the top of the stairs with Cersei in a room behind him.
Then, let the fledgling soarrows take turns going to get Cersei.

So I posted this in the hodor thread, but it really doesn't get much legit discussion at this point and was curious about what y'all thought about my take on Arya's storyline.
It was always much more about her finding her identity as a Stark than becoming an assassin. It seems throughout the show, she has always been pretending to be someone else. Back in season one, she never wanted to take on the responsibilities of being a Stark and had more in common with Jon Snow than any of her other family members. Then she spends a couple of seasons on the run pretending to be an orphan where her only motives seems to be to stay alive and get revenge on those who wronged her. And for the past two seasons we see her pretending to be "no one" and trying to forget her past all together. It really didn't seem until last nights episode when she says "I am Arya Stark of Winterfell, and I am going home" that we see her fully embrace her name and her house.
Sure, its cool to see that she picked up some nice training, but Arya finally embracing who she is seems to be the most important part of her journey. And the way Jaqen kind of smiled and nodded at the end makes it seem as if that was what he wanted her to realize all along.
Either way I'm happy she will finally be headed back to Westeros and hope we can see her reunited with Jon and Sansa to help take back the North.

She gonna reunite with Jon and Sansa, but first she has some unfinished business she needs to attend to

Watched this episode yesterday and from my perspective it was the weakest so far this season. Still enjoyable but I guess my standards are too high for GoT's. Maybe HBO's limited budget for the show is showing, not sure but there were a number of scenes that simply didn't feel like the world class TV that I expect from GoT's.
1. I agree with others that the off-screen deaths are getting lame. The Blackfish deserved better.
2. Jaime's intimidation of Edmure just didn't work for me. For one thing Edmure was mumbling so badly I couldn't understand what he was saying. And Jaime's: I'll commit any atrocity to get back to my love, Cersei, was beyond ridiculous.
3. And in retrospect, the entire way the writers manufactured Arya's stabbing, recovery and then didn't show anything, no sound, no nothing, for Waif's death became another boring off-screen death.
On a positive note I did enjoy the scene with Jaime and Brienne and Arya parting with Jaqen as "Arya Stark". Tyrion's scene was amusing and took the edge some of the other more depressing action. The scene with the Mountain was good but damn he has some shitty/thin armor. Must be a shell of a man behind that armor.
The Hound hooking back up with the Brotherhood made sense as was well done.

They didn't show the fight and death because they wanted suspense in the very next scene leading to the Waif's face on the wall. Yall sound like a bunch of Hodors needing action and blood in every scene

if they hadn't done such a terrible job the last two episodes getting in to the dark room I don't think you would have gotten as much negative feedback. But that sequence was horrible.
And the whole episode leading up to it was kind of rough. I liked Jamie talking and most of the hounds stuff, but everything else in the last episode was pretty weak.

I was ok with them just going to black for the waif's death. It made sense considering in the pitch black was the only way Arya could defeat her, and then how they were trying to buildup in the next scene.
But I also think they dropped the ball with the Blackfish's death being offscreen. He deserved us seeing him going down fighting. I mean, how much more effort and cost would it take to have him open the door and take on a couple of Lannisters right there?

You know what scene seems "wasted" in retrospect? Tyrion releasing (or attempting to) the dragons. Seems pointless. And not sure how it plays into the next two eps at all. I bring it up because i thought it might come into play when the masters attacked. Guess not.

There was so much pointless stuff that happened in Meereen this season. The dragons. The truce. Varys discovering the backers of the Sons of the Harpy (surprise it's the people you expected!). Tyrion offering those prostitutes to the masters. The people of Meereen getting restless. None of those have been carried on in any meaningful way.
The red priests keep coming back so I assume that will be a "thing," but even than hasn't been developed.

This and all the other a midget, a whore, and eunach walk into bar scenes have been the worst this season.

Well, we haven't seen the conclusion of the Master's seige. I mean, all we have so far is Dany returning. We may even get a full on seige in episode 10 for all we know. I could see Dany & crew with the unsullied holding out, and then the Dothraki, the Iron Born, and all 3 dragons converging at once and obliterating the Master's.
Now I don't know if D&D have the budget for that considering they have the BotB next week, so it probably won't happen. But it sure would be cool if it did.

The dragons wern't growing on the chains they should be growing now. When they are released from the period they will be near the size of Drogon.

Realistically Drogon alone should be able to completely wreck those ships.

True, but I'm down for some overkill.

The biggest show on TV is handcuffed by a budget? That's terrible.

As much as I hate to say it, I am not buying this one.

Did you think HBO gave them a blank check to make the show? You do realize HBO wants to make money on this show, right? That's where a budget comes into play.
