There was an ESPN 30 for 30 on Dallas Carter, where the players disputed the movie portraying them as thugs...but Dallas carters were supposed to be the antagonist of the film.
Your hand in mind is the score playing throughout the aftermath of the last play. I’ve always loved this movie

Also, I found it interesting that Chris Comer (the backup RB) ended his career at Odessa-Permian as one of the most prolific runners in the school's history. Led them to the 1989 state championship and then played 2 years in college (I don't remember where). Found it funny that the movie kind of made him out to be mediocre, but he was actually really legit.
Stoney Case took over the QB spot for Mike Winchell. He ended up making the NFL eventually.

Thought it was pretty funny that they had a bunch of guys who ended up going to prison for a string of armed robberies taking issue with their portrayal as thugs

Your Hand in Mine is the pinnacle of a nostalgic musical piece. Nothing brings me back to the playing days quite like a late night run with that playing in my headphones.

Couple of corrections. Jessie Armstead never played a game for the Panthers. Most of his career was with the Giants, with whom I believe he is employed now in some capacity.
Also, the final score of a forfeit is 2-0.

Seeing that played live may just be one of my favorite moments of my life . The opening riff hit and I got chills and felt myself transcended to a better place for 9 minutes.

I played it on the drive home after the final loss my senior year, always takes me back every time I hear it now. Incredible
Also, what was the decision to use modern day Nike equipment and visors for a film set in 1988? Too much of a pain to gather up 1988 gear?

because either the director, producer, or studio decided they'd rather make $$ from nike than be realistic to the times. I hate when movies do that, but I can't fault them too much.
