He stated he was done with the show and he was dead dead

I needs to finish after season 5. Can't wait for this season

Dude, they announced that a long time ago. The end of season 3, to be exact. AFter the credits.

Well to be fair, he was dead but brought back through red titty witch voodoo magic.
It’s certainly not outside the realm of possibility the same is true in Stranger Things, though I expect the explanation will be different

There was a ladder to escape apparently.

Wasn’t it pretty obvious he was still alive...

Shouldn’t these kids be in college by now?

It undercuts the emotional impact of the end of last season/the letter he wrote to Eleven.
You don't think that was undercut by the pointless 5 minute musical number directly preceding his death?

Hopper should've died.
Yes, and this series should've ended at 3. The kids are getting old, and the magic that was captured from their youth is fading. If they wanted to keep making more seasons, I wish they would've brought in an entire new cast and focused on a new set of characters.

I believe the show's creators have said they are doing no more than five seasons. They realize the kids are getting old and are going to finish the series with them in high school.

I really wish they would have pushed production through quicker these kids are really going to be shockingly older now.

The actors who play Eleven and Will Byers are 16 this year. Mike, Dustin, and Max are all 18 this year. The actor playing Lucas turns 19 later this year. The older teens (Nancy, Steve, and Jonathan) are all in their 20s.

They took notes from how dexter ended

How was it a cliffhanger?
The only people that didn't think it was Hopper were the ones thinking it was Brenner.

In fairness, Harbour was very straightforward in telling folks in interviews that the character was doornail dead.
From the linked article:
quote:
Harbour refused to weigh in on the matter following the Season 4 debut, telling Entertainment Tonight when asked if Hopper would be back, “I mean, I have no idea! I have no idea! I mean that, of course, is my hope too. It seems pretty crazy though. You know, that machine went off and blew up and Hopper seemed to be trapped there. He did glance around a little bit, but he seemed to be trapped and the machine exploded.”
Seems like he said he didn't know and that it seemed outlandish.
I bet the explanation will still likely make more sense than the great majority of Lost or the last few seasons of Game of Thrones.

I'm happy he is back but why announce that before the season even airs? That was the huge cliffhanger from season 3. Doesn't make any sense to just spoil that this early IMO.
Because they know they’ll get more casual viewers that way. Creating a great narrative is secondary. Most people wouldn’t appreciate story telling that doesn’t reward the viewers immediately.
