Include the whole quote if you're going to call it out, dipshit.
Damn, it's even worse with the whole quote. It's contrived and forced, just like every other line in this movie.

It almost seems as if you watched a highlight video of the movie and not the movie itself if you feel there was no chemistry between the two.
It's not my favorite Michael Mann movie, but it's up there.

The Gael still hypes me enough to run through a wall. I listened to this song right before leaving the locker room for my high school football games.
This - I imagine - is the song that played from the helicopter speakers as Seal Team 6 raided and killed Bin Laden.
It's how God watched Kick 6; he slowed down time, put on this song, and watched Chris Davis run 100 yards in 4 minutes and 14 seconds.
It's what Tom Brady played to convince the New England Patriots that they could come back from 28-3 in a Super Bowl.
The Gael makes your entire OP invalid. It crushes you, drives you before it, and hears the lamentations of your women.

This might be the hardest I've ever downvoted someone.

Name a better movie from the French and Indian war?

101!
But there is a ridiculous amount of running through the woods in that movie.

A lot: LINK I'm sure you are aware but it won an Academy Award for best sound and a bunch of other awards. No, it wasn't great acting but it was a historic adventure type film so the action pretty much told the story. You make some valid points but Mahicans got a 7.8/10 on IMDB and while it's not a great movie and certainly not one of Daniel Day-Lewis' bests films, it is a good adventure movie for those of us who enjoy historic tradition set during the French and Indian War period.

The book the movie is based on is utter shite. It's a horrible, horrible book, but its one of the first truly American novels, so it has survived despite the fact it would be better as kindling than as reading material. Some of the problems with the film are with the fact nothing can revive the novel its based on.
However, the film is beautifully shot. I'd put it next to THE MISSION as the most beautiful movie I've ever seen. Just gorgeous. The canoe over the waterfall? Come on.
And Magua is an outstanding villain. He sells it.

Get the hell out of here troll.
I had the privilege of watching this movie on the big screen and when this scene occurred the whole theater was like "frick yeah!!"
This is one of my favorite battle scenes ever... The build up of the march into the prairie then the popping of the muskets at the onset and then full fire mode is just awesome.

There were multiple times in the movie where a line of soldiers were marching and a savage just walks out of the woods and smashes one of them in the head with a club and the soldier never even turns his head. That kind of lazy filmmaking completely took me out of the movie. If a dude with a club was coming right at you, making no attempt at stealth, don't you think you might look up to see what the commotion was?
The fight scenes were atrocious and cheaply done. I guess the Indians invented the spin move and Europeans had never seen that before.
The costumes were cheap and tacky, and I read that the first costume designer quit due to creative differences with Mann. The original composer also left due to creative differences. Weird!

Was one of my first big adult films in the theater. I was only 10, maybe 11 depending on time of year but my dad said it was historically relevant enough to see.

To me, it's a movie that can't really be truly appreciated unless seen on a big screen. You really have to see it with the volume cranked way up too. Viewing it on TV with the sound at a normal level doesn't inspire and there's dialogue that's inaudible.
