You know, this is really only fun if you just name 2 or 3 and give everyone else a chance to play…

I’m not sure if anyone outside of pretentious blowhards actually like this film, but Annie Hall.

Yes it is. Was more excited to see the train wreck that was the documentary of the making of this film. But it ended up sucking too.

Honestly I thought Boondock Saints has been safely classified as schlock. It’s fine when I’m drunk or high, but that’s about it.

Up.

It hooks the audience on sappy emotionalism at the beginning to the point that they forget how ridiculously absurd the third act is.

In the 90s/early 00s, I had several people tell me that I *had* to see this film. More than one person compared it to a Tarantino film at the time. I honestly couldn't believe that it was the film that was getting so much hype as I was watching it.

Going by the deal that he blew with Miramax, it seems like Troy Whatshisface even had Harvey Weinstein convinced that he was some kind of genius.

awww man I love Adaptation. Yeah its up its own arse a bit but that's a damn good movie in my household. Especially when the 'brother' takes over the 'script' and it turns into Hollywood nonsense

Yeah, I remember freshman year a bunch of idiots comparing it to Tarantino as well and I watched it in my dorm room and from there just completely dismissed these people as idiots. I just thought that was something that only idiot teenagers think, like the Hangover is the greatest comedy of all time, which speaking of, that’s one that is way overrated. It’s hilarious the first time, but becomes less funny each time you see it. The truly genius comedies when rewatching them, the anticipation and buildup of the punchline is often funnier than the actual punchline itself. Mel Brooks and Edgar Wright are masters at that. Hangover is just a one and done comedy really. Absolute mid-tier and the sequel is a total abortion (haven’t seen 3).

I get bored to sleep by Golden Age of Hollywood movies. Lawrence of Arabia Yawn. Citizen Kane. Zzzzzzz. Casablanca. Just shoot me.

I try to watch them. I never finish.

Every Coen brothers film. Fargo was okay.
