Everyone Loves Raymond vs King of Queens

My Dad absolutely loves Raymond and I can watch King Of Queens more than once. I bring up this topic because I was just visiting with him over the 4th of July holiday and we watched both shows because they seem to be back to back on TVLand a lot.
Just personally, I like Raymond if I'm hanging with my Pops to catch a couple laughs together but probably wouldn't actively seek it out to watch it if I was alone. King of Queens though, I will hunt that show down and record all of them just to pick through watching them when I can. Probably one of my favorite sitcoms ever and I laugh my arse off every time at the same jokes. GF rolls her eyes when she sees me put it on because she is fine watching it one time only. She thinks I'm a psycho. Ha
What does Movie/TV Boards finest think of the two that is what I came here to know.

KOQ is always a great show, I like it much better due to support cast especially the great Auther Spooner.

Kind of with the OP.
I used to always watch Everybody Loves Raymond with my parents, especially my dad. Thought it was funny as hell and it still holds up today. One of my favorite bonding moments with my dad.
I'd say I'd prefer that, but Kings of Queens does seem to make me laugh more, so it's close.

Crazy to see Cranston in the earlier ones. At the time when they came out I had no idea who he was yet.

The battle is really between who is more tolerable, Carrie or Debra?
The two shows are dopplegangers.
Both shows are about nagging wives and irritating In-laws.
Carrie was hotter, so she gets a pass and King of Queens wins out. Everybody Loves Raymond is funny but frightening.

I'm a Carrie fan personally, but Debra was no slouch. She kinda has the Milf next door vibe.

Could make an argument for either, but I'll say Carrie. Debra was a way way way bigger bitch, but she had a lot more to deal with than Carrie.

No denying that...
But then you got this constantly...
Carrie was more tolerable...
Though high maintenance. Burned through Doug's money.

These both came out just when I stopped watching network TV. I can say I've only ever watched them in passing. I'm familiar with who is on what show.
Ray Romano and the guy that play his brother just sort of annoy me.
Though I'm that weird person that never got into Friends but loved Seinfeld.

Both are funny shows, I'd give the nod to Raymond just because Frank's jabs at his wife

Raymond gets the win here. One of my favorite shows.
Debra was a saint. You try raising 3 kids on your own with little help from your husband and a MIL who is constantly in your business critiquing everything you do.
Do like Doug & Carrie, just had a bit different vibe to me but very similar.

King of Queens is probably my favorite show.

Arthur >Frank
Doug >Ray
Debra>Carrie (only because of the money issue)
Marie has no counterpart
Deek=Robert
Overall, these are two of my favorite shows, too close to call IMO

Gotta say -- the more I watch Everyone Loves Raymond, the less it's "funny". Instead it's annoying.
It's the same script: Ray's childishness, petty whining and his constant lame attempts at getting over on Debra. Not to mention buying how she was ever charmed by such a bumble-frick.
King of Queens hands down. It's (sorta) believable. AND Doug and Carrie have hilarious chemistry. The cast and stories are hysterically funny.

Being married for over 10 years and having kids, my appreciation for ELR has gone up. It hits the nail on so many issues.
KOQ is great for remembering being newlyweds and without kids.
I could binge both of those shows and be content either way.

Friends sucked. And KOQ > ELR easy. Stiller adlibbing was hilarious and much better supporting cast. "TIVO thinks you're gay."

I loved raymond growing up and also love KOQ.
But now that I am married with kids, I am viewing raymond in a different light and it is funnier to me now

I cannot emphasize how enjoyable a complete series rewatch of King of Queens truly is.
From Carrie's hot sister who disappears in the first episodes to Doug and Carrie becoming parents in the final scene, the show never dips or lags.
